      Sunny, thank you so much, I will be thinking of you, and all the Undies, and will give Missy a big hug from you all. I will see if I can commandeer Missy's 'puter to plonk some piccies for ewes.

      Sad as it is, I want to have a look at some of the earquake devastation ( I studied earthquakey stuff at Uni a zillion years ago).
      Then Missy will show me the beautiful sites..... hopefully including where my Teddies left their swords and bows and arrows 8 years ago! (All to do with Lord of the Rings and the teddies being in NZ at the time and me saying they couldn't take weapons back to Australia, and teddies being teddies)

                            Zen--Summer sausage is the real deal. I watched it being made on butchering day when I was a child! Also, a woman in my area, who was known for making great summer sausages and would sell them, died this year and lots of people are devastated because they can't get one from her. Oh, and she was a great lady, too.

                            Reg--BTW, a summer sausage is huge--extended pig's bladder. No way you stick it anywhere but in a refrigerator.

                            I'm going to stop posting here. You guys never believe me, and I don't want to be considered a spammer. I'm from a different part of the world, and a different culture, but I am trying to understand yours. My first post, regarding music, was thought to be spam, then it was the snake doctor bit. Oh, nevermind.

                              What I was saying about the summer sausage was that I had the supermarket version... I had no clue it was considered a delicacy... it was beside the other sausages!

                              It's great to have all the cultures and countries together under one roof (so to speak) and I agree with you... its neat to be able to see how people live around the world. )

                              (Note to self: try proper summer sausage sometime...)

                              After posted, I realized I misinterpreted your response. I am daft, and everyone knows it.

                              Here's a link to sausage being made. If you scroll down you'll see a stuffed pig's bladder for summer sausage. Big, huh, Reg? Anyway, my German ancestors did it this way, and the tradition has been passed down. It's definitely a delicacy, made with pork, not beef.
