Underoos and guests - September and it is spring!

    Evening all,
Well I have booked my camping holiday with my 3 boys, so I am looking forward to that....did I tell you I have booked an ensuit which mean we can set up the tent and then we have our own loo, shower & sink....lol. I know it is not true camping but it beats getting up in the middle of the night and walking down the road to take my boys to the loo, at least they can just jump out the tent and away they go. Plus the ensuit has power so I can now boil the kettle in there and it will not wake the boys up......oh I cant wait.
My day today was alright I had a few moments but I just had a little word with myself and all is fine, I am going to get my PJ's on and relax on the sofa will watching the X Factor on the TV.
Hope you all had a lovely day and are enjoying your evening

    xx

I think real camping is where you leave your home comforts, and spend thousands on a portable:
        • stove
        • shower
        • bed
        • lighttoiletfridgeshelter

put them all into an overcrowded car, drive 4 hours, and set em up just like at home.:H
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

                Mornin/evenin', Undie friends,

First, I meant no insult whatsoever about Underoos being a chat room. You all seem so happy and care-free (for the most part), that I thought perhaps you were AF gods, and had the magic wand for remaining so.

I greatly appreciate all the advice.

Brigd: You're right. When I fail, I need to think about why, and plan something positive. Last night, the trigger was anger and frustration, consequently, 3 beers, but not the usual bottle of wine. My problem is my life is in such a shit place now that I never wake up feeling happy and rested. I can't make plans--at all; taking care of my elderly parents, and maintaining hearth and home is all I can do. Since going AF, I've yet to experience the wonderful feeling of waking up bright eyed, rested and at peace.

I'm afraid that since I've slipped 3 times in the past two weeks, I just say the hell with it, and go back to the way I was.

Also, I too get weary of all the pats on the back. Those in the early days, or the long-time abstainers should receive it, but I'm ready for the next stage. I want to move on.

                I'll stop the damn moaning.

Again, sorry if any of you were insulted by the "chat room" comment. It truly wasn't meant as a jab. I love you guys.

                Thanks again.

Juja it takes a lot to insult Undies et al and you were by no means insulting.

I am stuffed and would like nothing better than to pour a whopping huge glass of wine and blah blah blah....and it would not be pretty.

but i wont...brewing camomile tea and administering drugs and sleepage to all. Hope you feel better soon Bridgey. You can only be sick for a quarter of the time of those you look out for you know...

night undies!!! morning will be good, I know this.

                    Hiya Juja,

Never any offence taken here i can tell you, so don't worry about that sort of stuff here. Tell it like you feel anytime.

That's tough that your life's in a shit place, and it must be so hard to bloody deal with, especially in your situation where you're caring for your parents. You've just got to hang in there. Muster as much support as you can around you i reckon. Can you? Get family, nephews, neices, neighbours, friends, do-gooder's, volunteer's involved to share the load?

Anyway, best wishes, and take care of you friend.

Yay!! None of that other stuff. I love early darkness, snow, coziness, fewer demands--who can go out in this cold?--and many, many books to read. Ah-h-h.

You guys never talk about your struggles with AL. Are all of you AF, and perfect, unlike the rest of us who are still struggling? Just curious. Underoos seems to be more of a chat room than a Al site. If you've overcome the beast, fill me in as to how. I'm not doing so well after being AF 5 1/2+ weeks, have succumbed, plus a vacation looms starting this weekend. Shit. Maybe I'll make it in time, but this is SOP.
I've just read back and noticed your post Juja. Good post, and you raise valid points. I for one, reckon the more we talk about our obvious struggles/journey's regarding grog the better. I know booze is the subtext. But i see your point, and it has been mentioned before. I suppose the 'organism' that is this thread takes on it's own character and feel? But problem drinking remains the undercurrent. Maybe we should open up more about our journey's and struggles?

Bloody great news Reggie!!! This put a HUGE smile on my face. I so hope that things turn out well for you and Mrs. Reg. It's so important for a kid that their parents get along whether they live together or not and little Regina will definitely benefit from you and Mrs. Reg working things out. If you two can get back to the point you were at one time - friends, lovers, companions, then it will be fantastic for all of you. Best of luck, Reggie.:h:h
