Not so new, been hanging around for a few years and in chat a lot.

I actually did 6 years AF once upon a time....pray God this is for good and FOR GOOD...maybe I shoudn't say that I'm an agnostic!

Since my post I haven't been around at night either, will make sure I have the chat room open with "Sound on Enter" selected and turned on as muc as possible.

I'm in Sydney, have lived all over and in some places really remote too, eg., Lightning Ridge (recently) and the Gulf of Carpentaria (Karumba - that's a town not an expression) a long time ago.

Going good umm not counting is it 10 or 11 days, Really I should have written the date down.......ahh Tuesday 6th September

I throb being sober anytime, but i particularly love being sober when out and about in a bar or gig. It's just great. I play great, look good, feel good, and then you notice other sober folk sometimes. It was cool having a real constructive and noice chat to our musical support act friday, a young woman from N.S.W. country, singer/songwriter who had a great voice. She was eager to chat, and to connect, and i was proud, happy, and honoured to do so with her. Was i still looking at her tits? Yes, but in a far more respectful manner than yesteryear.

Hope I can get to the stage where it is boring.
I haven't been living here long and there is one guy (who misses his mother i.e. I'm more that sort of figure to him) who has been a frequent visitor. Good conversation, interested is Art etc as am I.
When I went into detox, hae came and sat with me in the waiting room.
He is only weekly payments from Centrelink because he can't budget, he can't budget because he binges on payday.
Thursday evening I was out putting out my garbage and he staggered past, we chatted on the way upstairs, while I was choking on his fumes. Five minutes later there was a knock at my door, he was out of cigarette papers, gave him some and he said come up for a coffee. "No" I said "I'm cooking my dinner." "Aw come on!"
"No Jeff I don't want to, your pissed and I'm in recovery it doesn't work"
To which he replied "oh well the only alcohol I've got is scotch does that rock your boat??"
He came back again about 15 minutes later and tried the "I'm lonely" card and reminded me he had scotch!
Haven't seen him since, either he is doing the remorse thing or he is shitty with me, probably the latter he does have some paranoid sort of ideas.
I'm thinking that when I do next see him sober, I should just lay out some ground rules? He isn't getting anymore chances. He will find me so frosty that he will give up either coming down expecting a coffee and chat or inviting me up.

Luckily I do have support around here too positive people who are cheering me on!

He obviously just doesn't get it, even though his payday binges mean he gets most of his meals at the Salvos!

Just wanted to vent, it had me really angry all that night and still grates!

Could it be because I have tapered off the Benzo's, have drastically reduced my drinking for the last 6 days, am eating healthy and have been going to the gym?

What a travesty. On one or more occasions Tawny had mentioned Tim Tams, she even took pictures of the 2 she has before bed. So around December I saw in the grocery store (I'm currently in Texas) that Pepperidge Farm (a high end cookie brand) had tim tams and they even put a display of it calling it Australia's favourite cookie - your biscuit.

My hubby was here at the time and we goobled up packages of them and he loved them. So I looked for them today and they are not being introduced:upset: No-one really knew about them and I guess they cruised on by to get their oreos.

The pleasure was fleeting and tasty.
