I reckon i just might try one this year. There are a few races here for all fitness levels. Need a proper bike i suppose. Could use my mountain bike non? I mean performance would prob be slower, but would that be within the rules?

G - if it is anything like here there will be heaps of social and fun events, with short distances and non-competitive. Mountain bike would be just fine, but if you want to go a bit faster on it, get some "slicks" (road tyres) put on instead of mountain bike ones.

Thanks Missy! Road tyres for a faster ride makes sense, however for me at the moment, just participating will be satisfying enough. It's good to know me mountain bike will be accepted. You and Rags are sure to have a good time together. Bet you canna wait. It looks so beautiful where you are. I've played in Auckland a couple of times for 2 week periods and a one orf concert a few years ago, but haven't travelled the country as yet. Will do so for sure at some stage.
