Underoos and guests - September and it is spring!
Rags, I'm just catching up with piles of washing and emails, but I still have you on my radar for next week!! It is next in the line of things to look forward to before Xmas!!
(After that it is a weekend away to see Stevie Winwood and Steely Dan, so you are in good company :H:H)
Poor old Betty managed to get a flea infestation while we were away. As an amputee, there are some places she cant clean or scratch, so I am pretty religious about keeping her groomed, but I think this is just the time of year when it is easy for the fleas to get settled pretty quickly.Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

BTW Tips, the South African rugby team and supporters are getting really good press here. There was a very moving radio interview that I listened to today that I'll try and send you. I think it is something about it being the 30-year anniversary of the 1981 Springbok tour and NZ and SA rugby unions both bending over backwards to put it all in the past.Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

MB, have you tried Comfortis for your pup. It has worked a charm for our dogs. No fleas in almost a year.

Both cats get regular flea treatment and we dont generally have a problem, but I think with Betty that it is just that she cant get to scratch some bits of her - mostly the back of her left ear and at the back of her head. She has a serious case of phantom limb syndrome and whenever I see her back muscles looking like they are trying to scratch I give her a good comb and she loves it!! And that usually happens at least twice a day, so I think that the flea problem has just been about us being away for a week. The neighbour's wee girl has been feeding them and would love to give them lots of attention, but she is still a bit young ..... chases them instead of encouraging them to come to her. But she did a great job looking after them while we were away, and was very proud that we felt that she was old enough to be trusted with a key to the house
But both cats are so happy that we are back!! Betty has been sitting beside me on the computer all night, and Wookie curled up on Mr B's feet. It is nice to feel wanted (even if it is just for the fact that I comb out the fleas :H:H)Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

LOL, HP. Yea our dog had fleas forever and nothing worked and we tried EVERYTHING! So when we got our new pup and he was miserable to, the vet kept say ng try Confortis, but we were super skeptical. Finally we bought it, and then within 2 days no more scratching, no more fleas. It's pretty amazing, only you have to wonder what makes it work.

And Mr Rags is in there playing "slide the 2 dollar coin along the floor and get it in the circle to win a bottle of scotch" I took a good number of the photos, so I'm behind the camera! Note that former 7:30 Report reporter turned politician was there.

Well i can't fault that logic Kaza!
G'day Aspy,
Re moderation. I wouldn't be in any rush to try it. But only you can know, and you'll soon find out if you try. As long as you can pull yourself out of it if you get too negative, and you start hitting it too hard. I'm far better off without it myself. I don't need it, it is a lie that i need it to enjoy myself. And i'm sick of hangover's and not being my best. Best wishes whatever you do, and keep us posted.

I don't need it, it is a lie that i need it to enjoy myself. It's not a good idea for me as it happens anyway, as i've got to much flexible time and no responsibilities. And i'm sick of hangover's and not being my best. Best wishes whatever you do, and keep us posted.
Edit: I would add that most people who have been problem drinkers before, and go back after 6 mths, 1 yr, 5 yrs, 20 yrs, often return to previous drinking levels very soon, and in fact get even worse. Not everyone, but many do. But it's an individual thing, and i reckon our attitude and thinking has a lot to do with it of course, whether we are pre-disposed to excessive drinking through our body/brain chemistry and/or genes or not. It's important to remember where drinking took us, and why we stopped. It's easy to forget this, and our alkie mind would love us to forget too. Just my thoughts......
