Actually Fen--I thought of that. When I called I immediately said my issue was a disrobing the peace type--noise ordinance and is there a non-emergency line. Dispatch told me I was correct to call 911. When the officer came I did apologize about it again but not only did he tell me I called the right number but to call back if they got loud again. I did feel guilty that he was even having to take time for it. After he went to speak to them he came back and told me he would stick around in his patrol car because the guy figured out it was me who complained and he was intoxicated. Maybe it was a slow night in Dekalb county!! It was a different experience to be sure!

Disrobing the peace --love this iPhone!! Disturbing the peace!! I am having trouble sleeping --feeling the aches more since it is night and puttering in the house without hubs so I am hearing every creak...son had left over pizza in fridge and I had a large piece. So also feeling guilty but at least it is no longer here for me to eat tomorrow--and it isn't booze...I will just do better tomorrow. Good night

Wow. Your town is way different from mine! I called the regular police dispatch number when a crazed crack-head was pounding on my door in the wee hours...and the cop was annoyed with me for calling him out! I was honestly scared...she was really pounding, I didn't know if she had a guy out in the bushes, etc. It's an antique door with a huge oval window. In my area, the police don't even come out if someone steals your car. You're just supposed to call in and report it on an automated line. Awesome, huh?

I hope the noisy guy doesn't party a lot, ATL.

Fen, the South is different, when it comes to many things. In some areas of heavy crime I'm sure my experience is different, but I've never called without a prompt response. SIL, Firefighter, EMT, said an old lady called their truck out one night because her canula had slipped out of her nose. I always go through the non-emergency line, and have been told to call 911 if it happens again. I agree the number is frivolously used, but they set the guideline. At the cabin, the sheriff tells me it's the easiest way to get him. Same with the sheriff in the next county where my rentals are. I always apologize for calling him, and he laughs, tells me as long as I'm not trying to get a relative out of jail, he's happy to talk. Oh! and we share gggrandfather! :H
Very odd thing has happened to me in the midst of my buying a house business. Tay called and asked if I would go with her (18 1/2) and he BF (22) to the cabin for the weekend. I gave her all my reservations (no money, no time, etc.) and they pooh-poohed them, said we'll leave today when I want, come back on Sunday. Sorry, I'm just NOT used to someone wanting to do something for me, so I'm........suspicious. But, I'll try to withold judgement, and enjoy. They know I'm not interested in the nightlife there, so I guess we'll all be happy! OH! Hubs is going to freak!!!! :H Won't be the first or last time.
ATL, have you noticed how golden the poplar leaves are? They're the first to go, and have started. I'll give you an update on leaf change in NGa.

Mornin'.
Slow start to my day. Work schedule has been rearranged due to 2 people quitting this week. I get to work late today and tomorrow. I usually work 7am-3pm on Fridays so this is a big change for me! I think I get some overtime though.
It is cold here, high of 47 today...I am soooo not ready for this! Especially since I ride the Vespa a half hour each way to work and back...47 seems a lot colder when you are going 45 miles an hour with no protection except a helmet, jacket and jeans! I will try to layer, but it is still cold.
And, it's supposed to rain. Eeek! Gonna have to try some meditation techniques on the way home to get through that ride. It's days like this, that I really wish I had a car.

Looks like I'm going, still leery. Made my legal and business transactions; house insured, conditions met, cousin at his attorny. TMB and Sadie are gonna be PISSED, but I can't take them, so as soon as I find Tink (she's gone into witness protection again I think), I'm ready.

Abielle, we may live in the same town . That's how our weather is today. Really blah. I have to try harder not to drink. Last night was awful but here I am trying again. I hate this stupid struggle and working to recognize triggers but it isn't just one thing, more like when the day is going well, all chores are done, kids are happy, why not reward myself? But it leads to disaster. Ugh. I will find another something to do when that thought creeps in.

Good morning, my dear family! My daughter and son-in-law came yesterday afternoon and left out early this morning to go to Panama City for his last ballgame and I am dogsitting her sweet little dog who pees on everything! :tsk: Ab and Tired, I'm sorry your weather is still cold. I opened up all my windows today! It is fall weather, nice and cool. Paul has gone grocery shopping and I am still trying to wake up. :ranger These antibiotics are so strong, they have me in lala land! :bonkers: I am beginning to think my infection is in my esphogus. It still burns every time I try to eat or even drink something cold. I threw up so much that I may have torn some blood vessells. I did throw up alot of blood. Where is our medical expert, RC? Welcome to all our new family members! You can do this and we want to help you. Just take it one day at a time. I quit smoking cigerretts 3 weeks ago and it is like alcohol, the cravings only last a few seconds and I suck on a lollipop when I do have a craving, so maybe that will help you who are struggling. Just deal with one craving at a time, stay busy and focus on today...not tomorrow or yesterday! I love you all and hop-e everyone is having a GREAT day! Love, Vicki

Hello all-- Rubes is right about things being a little different here with law enforcement-- though I live in a city of 5 million it seems small at times. I think there should be some emergency number but they sure don't publicize it. Some of the response times on real emergencies are insane here and I am sure it is due to clogging the system. If only I was the world's hall monitor...Way too much contact with all those hens today-- and we have a family dinner tonight at the school-- I know people like Catholic schools for the sense of community but all weekend too?? Yikes!

I think I need something for this insomnia. I have taken all the herbal things but none of them seem to do it for me. I think it is just the aftermath of my old head injury and it ma nevere reset itself. Dragging through days when sick is not a great thing especially with a kid--then again if I took a prescription thing that would require me to go to the doctor again and yuck! Benadryl is not going to be a good option since it raises bp. Oh well-- I bet it will pass in a week or two-- just hard when you are in it-- after Luke hits the hay -- i have nothing to think of but how I am not sleeping.. and getting up to clean can only do so much-- soon it gets too clean!
