Hope you guys are alright. We had rain here in NY all day. Dog won't go out to take a wee, just cries at the door. She finally went but I had to go with her. She's a funny thing and does not want to get her feet wet. Another hurricane brewing out there I saw tonight. Gggrreeaattt still haven't made the repairs from the last one. I think I might go to bed early tonight, family getting on my nerves a bit. Youngest has a friend over, didn't ask just what's for dinner, and being a smart ass showing off in front of her friend. I wish that she could have gone away for her first year of college, I think we both could have used the break,then she could have gotten a good healthy dose of reality. The other night she had a friend sleep over, the friend arrived after midnight then she slept over without my knowledge til the morning, my daughter's reply was "what difference does it make it didn't affect you so don't worry about it." I really wanted to smack her. This friend is NOT a good influence. Oh well,i keep reminding her to do well then she can transfer to a college away from home but I can see the old patterns of not doing school work already starting, she fails, she gets 1 year then she can get a full time job, because we won't be flushing the money down the toilet. G, that's really tough. Smacky-mouth, that's what I called my kids. And they had to be careful not to get a mouth smack! I was tough with my rules and discipline (no, didn't beat them!) but today they say I wasn't tough enough. Yet they let theirs get away with SO much more.
I'm an old-fashioned Southern cook. And I'd rather be up in the mountains at my cabin than anywhere. View from my front porch there..

Can't sleep. Daughters friend just left. Finally! I asked my daughter why she was being so mean she just rolled her eyes. SIGH......Ruby I love the view of all the wildflowers, it looks perfect. I just ordered a glycolic skin peel kit for home use to try and undo all the damage from drinking. I have one cheek,(my face....get your minds outta the gutter lol) that is mostly brown tinged (melasma) I think, that this is supposed to lighten. I hope so. Now if I can just lose weight. I must admit that tomorrow would be a day that I would normally drink so it Is on my mind tonight. Usually I lay in bed wondering what time everyone will be gone so I can get my bottle for the day. Now I am trying to decide where to start on housework because I am so far behind. I find myself just walking in circles doing little things that don't really make a difference. Maybe I will start with the bathrooms. Then the kitchen. Oh almost forgot, Ruby I have a collection of the best of Southern Living cookbooks by BHG! I love Southern food! Okay , okay I love food. Lol. Well I guess I will try again to sleep. Nite all! G

Good Morning everyone! I am up early - I decided I wasn't going to waste half my day off sleeping!! Morning Bird - nice to see you.... Yes, I remember my girls when they were teens - especially my eldest - she could have a mouth on her...just remember - it does pass.

Sorry to hear of the weather you are experiencing Ruby and others - I so wish we could have some of your rain - although our temps this morning are an incredible 47 degrees!! 47!! I think autumn has arrived. Mish - love the pics of your flowers - 'cos of our heat this year, the flowers didn't do very well - so nice to see pics of flowers! Georgie - be careful with that skin peel kit! things like that scare me! LOL ATL - so sorry that you are still having trouble with your heachache - You MUST get thee to a doctor!! Good morning Everyone.

Just rolling out of bed. It is 8:30 here and I did not sleep well again last night despite my sleep MD pill I took before bed. Got up at least 4 times, ughh. I am so tired. Rainy again today which will mean I will have to struggle with the dog to do her business all day today again. Ruby & everyone down south my prayers are with you, been watching the weather channel and it looks pretty scary. I have had acid peels before but at the spa so I think I know how to do it, lol, put it this way I hope I know how to do it. Naah it will be fine, I will stay near a sink ready to rinse it off if anything feels strange. Well talk to you later today I must get some work done and keep Busy. :hG

(Yawn)...Morning, all. Gosh, a lot has happened while I was away! Vick, I hope you get home quickly! Gosh, what a scary thing to have happen to you. :l

Tick Hollow is coming along nicely. It's quite chilly here in the evenings lately (just like Sun's area) so I made a fire in the wood burning stove on Sunday night. Very cozy! Got a lot of reading in, as there is no t.v. or interwebz there. Or phone signal, for that matter.

Well, it's time for breakfast. I have the least chance of being shot, trampled by goats or attacked by bloodthirsty hounds at Sun's place. Guess I'll chase some of those pesky birds away from her squirrel feeders and dig in! :H Sun, I know I mentioned ages ago that I would REALLY enjoy some suet cakes out back...chop-chop, woman!
