I'd just like to say for the umpteenth time today how happy I am to be back on this wonderful site. I hope any differences between members can be settled in a way so that the rest of us don't have to see it. Let's just remember why we're here.

Yikers--I could not sleep and came down to catch up on folks--maybe I am glad I was away tonight (hee)! My husband and his friend were talking (over the wireless xbox live no less) about 9/11 tonight. The friend was in the 2 tower at the WTC. He survived but he does not like to speak about what he saw. They both were quite upset when they got done talking. Now that I am up I do notice that hubs bourbon glass is out--they must have really got to talking. The friend has relied increasingly on booze since 9/11 (not that that surprises me). Really gets me to thinking about how we can never know exactly how others feel. Hope everyone has a good , more peaceful day today!

Two young businessmen in Florida were sitting down for a break in their soon-to-be new store in the shopping mall. As yet, the store wasn't ready, with only a few shelves and display racks set up.

One said to the other, "I'll bet that any minute now some senior is going to walk by, put his face to the window, and ask what we're selling."

Sure enough, just a moment later, a curious senior gentleman walked up
to the window, looked around intensely and rapped on the glass, then in
a loud voice asked, "What are you sellin' here?"

One of the men replied sarcastically, " We're selling ass-holes."

Without skipping a beat, the old
timer said, "You must be doing well.
Only two left."

Seniors ----- don't mess with them,

Good morning all,

Upward and onward. I am up and over any previous offenses. I thought about ducking out for a couple of days but then rethought that idea. Yesterday was a bad day from start to finish but I refuse to let it ruin my weekend. I know now that moderation won't work for me because it doesn't get me were I want to be ( not at all or to the point I pass out) it just seems to assist me with engaging people negatively when without it I might have just let things go. Sorry you all had to be witness to that. Some personalities just clash I guess.

Hope everyone has a peaceful day. I'm hosting a pow-wow on the property transactions tonight, so have to get out my mediator hat once again.

K-9 our weather is SO great here right now. Cool, no humidity.

ATL, the effects of 9-11 created a shock wave that still continues. My cousin lived in an apartment very near ground zero. She wrote an article that was published here (her hometown) on the first anniversary. I remember everything about that day - who told me, what I was doing, listening to the news, watching TV with my Momma when I visited her that afternoon (she was in her last few months with us), telling my in-laws who hadn't had the TV on. For those who survived and those who lost family it's an ongoing nightmare, I'm sure. I understand there are credible threats on several East Coast cities this weekend. I'm praying everyone is safe and those nutz will stay in their own backyard.

Finally, I humbly ask that those who have disagreements keep them off the thread. This is not the place for personality confilicts. Personally, I relish all our differences in temperment, background, lifestyles and beliefs. When we don't treat each other's differences with respect, this weekend is a memorial to what can happen.
