                ATL, hard as it is, and I don't downplay it, it sounds like you have a supportive mate. Take care of yourself; you have to be well to take care of the munchkin. And thanks for responding to the other thread. It was presumptious of me I know to tell her to PM you, but I knew you'd be the the one with the best advice.

                    Hubs is great-- he is just a victim of his Y chromosome at times on all things child and home. It is our social contract so to speak-- I agreed to it and support it-- just had a tense exchange with the soccer moms who seem to make me feel so bad about myself-- I try not to let them have control over me-- but they are just downright condescending and rude at times. All the talking behind peoples backs then the fake "Heeey" when those folks walk up. Don't they realize that we all know they are doing it about every single one in the group ? I'd write them all off if my son did not play with their sons-- these are the types that woudl exclude my kid if they did not like me-- and though I could care less he would be hurt at this age-- no 6 year old understands the total crap that they are..anyway, unlike them, I tolerate them so that he can hang with the kids. They really treat me like the fat jolly one (I could tell stories but I just told them to hubs and it will get me riled)-- it is just so superficial. And the fever and aches are not helping...okay now to put the little Kicky to bed (that is my name for him). And Rubes-- not presumptious on the other thread but there may not be alot I can do

                        Oh, Rubes...you just set yourself up with Sunny.....Georgie's the one who asked about the dirty joke.....but thanks for thinking of me!!

                        ATL-I hope you feel better soon...it's so hard when the Mom is sick and still has to take care of the normal stuff....luckily my "baby" is 17 so I usually can take some time for me when I'm sick.

                            Oh, my! I just saw that when I sat down to have the dinner I made for Hubs (Corned beef and cabbage, buttermilk cornbread (in a skillet!) and the last of our fresh veggies.) Of course, I'm sure Sun will have a snarkey retort, but we have to forgive the elderly for being cross, don't we?

                              If you have a good corned beef and cabbage recipe--my husband and father in law love that and my MIL would never cook it in their home due to her prejudices against the "shanty Irish" as she called them-- funny-- as hubs and father are Irish, MIL is half Irish too but trying to pass as the English oppressor (ha!) _- I would love your recipe!
