Tired, s*&t happens, especially when we're focused on one subject, ie: AL.We just have to pick up an start over, and do our best on THIS day.
MB, can only imagine how hard it is when you go on these trips. But WOW, your company must really value you to send you on so many! Maybe it's time to approach them about moving up to less stressful, face-to-face work and see what's available in management. I'm so proud of how you've worked, taken charge of the situation there. As far as hubby, you're right. Block him. You're definitely doing at the least your part. But it's REALLY hard for men used to being the provider when they lose that status, and part of their identity they connect to their work.
Grateful, how's the weather there, and the recovery from the flooding? Take care of yourself, sweetie. And again, SO glad you're back. I know everyone is.

ATL, you just need to go to BED!Trust me, your menfolk can survive, and it might do them good to struggle a bit without your help. As far as the snarky bitches, you give too much importance to their opinons. Really, what have they got over you? You are a beautiful, intelligent, successful, woman, with a great home life, so what have they got over you? I'll bet every one of those former cheerleaders would be lost if their hubbys dumped them, and what's there to be proud of being a trophy wife? You know what's important: your son and your husband, so you have nothing to prove. Don't let them determine how you feel about yourself. Walk in like you have a secret, make them wonder. Drives women like them crazy!! You need to meet my daughter for some self assurance lessons (I always thought she'd be a great lawyer!). I believe if she had 3 eyes she'd still be the most confident one in the room. (And sometimes it drives me crazy, but I love her!)
Birdy, how are you out there? Are your babies finding their way better? You will all survive this age, and you're such a great mom, your girls can't help but learn from watching you. You know how much I respect you, and I've only known you a little while, met you for a few days, but they LIVE with you. You're giving them great life experiences.

Sun, if I just say 'you win', will you quit all the desperate search for one-uppers? However, chronological age, and mental age are WAY different. Maybe I should spell that slower - W a y d i f f e r e n t. Seriously, I'm so happy Mags is enjoying a new lease on life. Having a buddy may really be the ticket for her, giving her new energy.
T, again, I wish you lived nearer and you and Hubs could work out a plan to help him with his work. He's worse than me about asking or allowing anyone to help him. We've always been the doers, the givers, and it's the hardest thing in the world for us to accept help.

Off to find the nearest place to buy Ninny food. One of our outside doors got opened (TMB has figured out they work both ways) and i was in a panic because I couldn't find Tinker. If ya'll think I'm overreacting, you've never seen a hawk fly over holding an animal weighing twice Tinks weight. Tay's best friend was out walking with her little puppy when a hawk swooped down and snatched it, and she never saw it again. Dramatic, I know, but the thought of her being carried off terrifies me, and she weighs less than most of the rabbits around here. Crazy how animals become so important to us when our children leave home.
This post has been in the works since about 10, since I'm in and out, but for those of you I missed, I'm sorry, but everyone is equally important here. I walk away then come back and post more. Sunny can tell you that's how old people do things!! :H Please check in, let us know how you're doing.

Hi everyone. So sorry that I haven't been around much. I'm sneaking on at work so haven't had a chance to catch up with everyone.
Woke up with a horrible stiff neck today. Ouch! So, I'm moving my head funny. :H
One of my very good friends lost her 19 year old nephew this weekend. Killed in a car crash. Seems like he was speeding. :upset: Killed 3 teenagers in his car and one got out. Lost control of the car (hit a curb) and it ran across traffic and into a stand of electrical boxes. Car flipped & burned. So tragic. Families are devastated. It's just a tragic accident and makes me think back on stupid things I did at that age and stupid things my son has done.
Well - work is calling again. I'll be back tonight.

Nora....that is so tragic about the young boy and it hits home hard with me as Jeremy is only 17 and has already lost friends the same way.....I hope your neck feels better soon....do you think you slept on it the wrong way?

Some years ago, and you have to remember this is a town where everyone knew everyone, I worked at the post office. I was talking to a couple of guys early in the morning, and one said how much trouble his daughter was in, since she was supposed to spend the night before with her friend, but they never showed up. That afternoon, the other guy in the conversation flagged me over, told me she and 3 others had been killed in a wreck that wasn't discovered until daylight, when someone saw the car in the woods. They were chasing after a couple of boys from the party they just left, just goofing around. No seatbelts, no alcohol, just bad decisions. I knew every girl's family in the wreck, and it was so heartbreaking. Two of our best, lifelong friends have a daughter who was supposed to be out with them that night, but they'd grounded her. I'm sure this all still haunts them, though there daughter is a doctor now. It comes back to me everytime I pass the place where it occurred.
So many things like this have happened to me. Guess it's what comes from living in a small town. Was on the phone with a friends mom when she died, and friend call 911. Another friend lost her 18 year old son in an accident, when he and his friend driving were high on drugs. Many more stories, but don't want to depress you or take away from the grief each case involves. Each story is such a tragedy.

Hello all--well I did take a nap--but I will say it made me feel useless. I am used to being up and doing something-- I have definitely found for me it staves off depression. While I still have body aches and fever I will just have to find a happy medium. Hubs leaves Thursday until Tuesday night for a work retreat and business trip and I will not even have begging as an option for him to do things! As it is, I asked if he could take Luke to karate as he is testing for the next belt today or Thursday-- he told me he just can't -- so I will have to stay way away from the mat where the other 4 to 7 year olds are! If you think those moms have something against me now just think if I gave their kids the flu. And on the subject of the moms-- I agree with everything you all said of course about them and I try to ignore them. Unfortunately there is a big group of them for me to ignore so it is not that easy. They complain all the time about their kids and husbands-- I know I complain here too but it is mostly I hope good natured. I realize for most of them their life experience has been very small-- they never had a career or any outisde interests much except finding husbands and then having kids and hanging with all the hens at the school. I once asked if any of them woudl wnat to form a book club-- I thought maybe some of them might be hiding interests in something else for fear of not fitting in the group (that is never me-- I am pretty sure they know I have quite a few at least intellectual interests)-- you would have thought that I had proposed we all read congressional minutes for 6 hours daily and debate. The one achilles heel though for me is that I know I do not look my best and I wish I looked as I used to (I am trying to get back there but it is a long hard road)-- I dress nicely and all that but it is hard to make a fat person look that good. I know it is just looks but it still makes me feel bad. If i coudl hide for 6 months until I was done losing weight I would love to see them and as Scarlett O"Hara says "I want everybody who was mean to me to be pea green with envy" (hee). Maybe one day...better go now and get to the school-- the dojo awaits!

GG, that's so sweet, but don't look up to me. I've faced all the same problems as you, and face them every day.

ATL, you're STILL giving them too much power over how you feel about yourself. When I was a senior in high school (shut up, Sunni!) I daydreamed about being able to to go out and be so beautiful they couldn't compare. What I DIDN'T know, was what their problems and insecurities were. We were in a tiny school, grew up together, and the patterns were set. But it all came back to haunt them in our senior year. They have nothing on you, but their smallness, and the need to feel more important. Like I said, be YOU. Down the road, what's their claim , but maybe ex-wife, and you have a great family and an education, career you can go back to, if God forbid, you were to be left on your own. But your hubby sounds like a good one. Hang onto him!

hey there ladies and gents .. sounds like everyone is doing good ...
and yes sunshine im tired but a good tired ...not done with the job yet ..
but one more day .. just did the final test on the water lines and install shower pan and door and just has a few more thing to get done and should be done tomorrow after ..
i get done with solar install with my buddy and then i get back to finish ..
so the latest thursday and then back to finish another job for my tranmission buddy's house and help him in his shop make room for more junk ...
so im staying busy ...
