Hmm. Just got an email from someone who is interested in interviewing me for a sales rep position. How would I do this with my DUI? It could be a good opportunity, and is something a bit different from what I have done before. I know that once I get a car, I can get a limited driving privilege for work. But what if my work route involves 3 states?

Work is work, Abi. With mine I drove all over because I was listed as self-employed. Good luck with it, and if you have a lawyer, ask them.

          I'M FINALLY HOME!!!
I've missed you all terribly! It feels as if I lost a month of my life! That was the sickest I have ever been in my life and I was really afraid I was not going to make it. THANK YOU ALL SO VERY MUCH FOR YOUR PRAYERS! I started throwing up Aug 30 and Paul took me to the local emergency room on Thurs, the 1st of Sept. I was in the ICU for 4 days, couldn't keep anything down! They had me on an insulin drip, fluid drip and some medicine to stop the vomiting. I was released on Labor Day and Paul took me to Jackson, where my stomach Dr. is and tried to have me admitted there, but my Dr. was out of town and so after staying in the emergency room with a drip of fluids and medicine to stop the vomiting, I was released again. I was so weak, I couldn't even walk. Paul had to carry me with his gout and all! We went to my parents, where I continued to throw up all night long. Tues morning, we went to see my Dr. and he adjusted my stomach pace maker and sent me back to Moma's, where I continued to throw up for another week. I finally begin to hold liquids down this last Monday. On the 13th, I spent all day long at the hospital having tests run from 5 am - 6 pm. on my stomach and they determined everything was working perfect by then. Then yesterday, I went to my diabetic doctor and he says I have a staff infection from the hospital is why my blood sugar is out of control! So now I am on antibiotics, and I am feeling so much better. I'm eating everything that won't eat me! :H:H My sugar is running high from the infection, so I am monitoring it closely. I say all this to say, if you are healthy, praise God everyday for it, because it is the most important blessing of all! Now the good news is I have not had a cigerette in over 3weeks and I will never smoke again. I will not drink sodas and I will exercise everyday. I am going to focus on staying healthy and not put ANYTHING in my body that is not healthy! Sometimes it takes a real fall to wake me up and I am very conscious of staying healthy now. Other great news... Paul has promised never to drink again and he hasn't in a while now, so this opened his eyes, too. Well, I did kind of give him an ultimative, it was me or the alcohol and he knew I meant it this time! So my life is good and I am so very thankful. I am so excited to get to Atlanta, and meet Kelly and Ruby! 2 weeks from today, we will already be there and I AM SO VERY EXCITED!
Ruby, my family wants the cabin phone #. will you please pm me it?
I love you all so much and I truly believe, everyone's prayers saved my life. Thank you all that called me. I finally got my phone back from Sharla and listened to all your messages and you all made me feel so loved. Thank you for your precious friendship! Love, Vicki
I'm not what I should be, I'm not what I could be. I'm definetly not who I want to be,
but I'm sure not who I used to be!

There is no pit so deep that God's love is not deeper still.

OHHHH-MMMMM-GEEEEE!!! Vick, what the HELL have I been telling you? You and Paul are like my kids, don't believe it till it happens. I had no numbers to reach you.
OK, enough fussing. I'm SO happy you're better, but if you do this again, and I don't think you will, it's too much. You need to be here to see and play and love grandbabies, and enjoy sobriety. When you get time to read back you'll see some new ones of my beauties. But however we get them (like Ry from crack addicted parents, and tiny as a monkey), that is the renewal of our life. Whatever comes next is wonderful, but I want to hold my babies here. I'll send the number. And my cell. Though this is remote, it's an affluent area in a sense (NOT me!!), and emergency things go straight to daughter's city about 40 minutes away, where it's wonderful, and Tip has priviledges at their VERY big hospital. Let's pray we don't need it, but it's there, as well as my contacts to the 911 units around it. So try to reassure them, then you MUST reassure me before you come. If the meetings get to be too much, you can come pile up in bed in absolute quiet for days. And no matter what you say, there will be ABSOLUTELY no rock climbing or zip-lining for you!!!

Vicki--How horrid for you. I am so glad you are better but things sounded rough. Do not mess with that staph-hubs got it after knee surgery once and they thought he was going to die. One of our dear friends (who happened to be a pro hockey player too) survived a horrid car crash some years back and ended up dying of staph in the hospital.. so don't mess around (for those of you who are hockey fans you might recall the driver was Dany Heatley and passenger Dan Snyder our buddy). Okay enough preaching-- I am just glad you are back!

Got the spare on and to the Goodyear for a new tire-- unbeknownst to me because hubs and I have busted them up so much he had put some protection plan on them that let me get a new one for really cheap-- yea hubs! He is in San Diego at a fancy place-- last night while packing I was cracking up at him-- he was trying to match things (he is not color blind) and was coming up with atrocious stuff-- then packed scuffed shoes-- my mom used to always rail on about how they ruin any outfit and on this I agree-- I told him that they would think he was homeless with those shoes and wondering if he was using his money on drugs or something. Now he has tasked me with the job of "find me some shoes I like" for when he returns. Hmm--I told him I was not a mind reader-- he needed to tell me when he needed new stuf not wait until the night before a party and throw his hands up. With just me and Luke though- no shopping this weekend. I did hear from his teacher-- and she said he was great and having a wonderful day though he expressed worry about doing everything right-- after he has his karate test today I think I will take him out for a pizza and talk to him about how proud we are and to go easy on himself. I certainly plan on letting hm just hang out as much as he can-- not have him practicing sports as hubs is wont to do!

Abi-- I can advise you with the job stuff-- they will expect driving I am sure so might as well be upfront with the DUI--you can spin it as you need to-- and you are doing well so it won't be a fib. PM if ou have questions. I would not advise just hoping they don't find out-- it always comes back to bite you in the end. And if there is any driving restriction with the DUI they would need to know too. At least they are reaching out and that is a great sign!

I just broke down and bought ESPN gameplan to watch Bama play North Texas-- I really need my head examined ....

Sunshine, thank you for your love and prayers! Alt, that is very scary about the staff, but I am on a very strong antibiotic to get rid of it! HAHA, Ruby! I'm terrified of heights, so no worries on the rock climbing or zip lining. I won't be having any health problems, I promise! My stomach pacer had stopped working (1st time in 4 years) and it just needed adjusting. The food was ust sitting in my stomach rottening until I threw it up. It is a rare thing for this to happen, so please, you and Kelly don't worry about me! We are going to have a wonderful time! I have had to fight my family over this trip for weeks. I AM GOING and I am perfectly capable of taking care of myself. I have been diabetic all my life and I keep my blood sugar under tight control! So... please, please, please let me come! Love you, Vicki

ATL, I'd tell him to go buy his own dang shoes, you're too busy like he has been while you've been sick.

Vick, I'm not fighting them on this one. You KNOW if you overdo between now and then (and I mean, do ANYTHING!), they should ground you. So good to have you back, hon.

Hello all-- son got his blue belt today and was so happy-- he had a much better day...guess this weekend when we are not doing his activities we may go shopping but somewhere like Designer Shoe Warehouse so I can get some shoes too! Tomorrow afternoon we are hosting another little friend for Luke-- been a little down today since I realize that I have felt bad and been tired and now the weekend is here and no hubs to enjoy just downtime with...guess I will just be happy next weekend when we are together in Nashville with my sister-- though I do expect some guilting about the mom situation. Time to get kiddo bathed-- then I am on to Project Runway to worship at the alter of the "Gunn" (Tim Gunn) --ha!

For the first time in my life I initiated a 911 call tonight. Someone had their classic rock concert going so loud in their yard I could here it through several closed doors. I tried to ask them to cut it off or down but they could not hear me it was so loud. Then I thought maybe since I alone and it is a single guy over there I better not push it. Now they have turned it off-- yay! 44 years and never a call to 911 by me--hmm.

I also realized I am almost 30 days AF. Incredible-- I feel so much better. Good night folks. by the way, I rarely go on the meds forum-- mostly just because I am interested in new advances in an intellectual way-- those folks don't play! Lots of interesting and strong viewpoints.
