Fen--I am praying for your family. I hope the doc's not knowing what happened (telling you all was well and now it isn't) won't hurt your mom's chances fora full recovery.

Abi- excellent job on 58 days! You did it! Keep on keeping on!

It is one gorgeous day here-- probably one of the prettiest I have ever seen. Went out to lunch with son on a patio then to the playground. I am still dragging from too much activity while fighting flu-- I know my recovery time will be longer since I had to keep moving 100% while hubs was gone. Tomorrow I have no plans until after school so if I am still tired I may sleep all day!

Time to go help Luke with his handwriting-- the diet went to hell 3 days out of 7 last week-- got to be very good this week-- I can tell I gained some back just because of the way my middle feels. Rock on all!

Everybody, thank you for all your thoughts and prayers. Mom's stroke was small, and in the cerebellum, which controls things like coordination, bp, breathing, etc. So far, only her coordination is involved. A tiny bit of left side affected with her arm coordination. When we get her on her feet, she's like a drunken sailor. All over the place! She is being monitored every other hour for brain swelling or another stroke. Because the stroke was not discovered last night, she is out of the window of opportunity for t-PA treatment.

Still, cognitively she's fine, her speech is fine, etc. So sad that just as she was really getting back into the swing of things, she was sidelined by this. And how sad that it wasn't discovered soon enough for the treatment that would have made all the difference.

She has a good attitude and I will do my best to boost her spirits and encourage her.

Sorry I can't talk to everyone tonight. Before I got my feet out of the car at home MIL was tottering toward me full-speed (OK, whatever it is) to tell me my best lifelong (55 years!) friend's mother, who I loved almost like my own, had passed away. Sad, yes, but she was SO sick, almost 93, and it was time. So now there are more commitments over the next few days, and I'm behind by 3 days, but all's good. AND I have my dental consultation tomorrow an hour and a half away. But I'm relaxed. I really am.

Good morning, friends. Fen....you are the best daughter!! I'm sorry she can't get the treatment, but she has an even better treatment....YOU! Prayers for both of you.

Bird....Wow, an armadillo in your yard??? Is that common? Amazing.

Ruby...I am so sorry for yet another loss.....as always, I am thinking of you. Remember to EAT and take your meds (as Rog would say) so that you don't get run down!!!!

Okay-- weighed this morning and scale says I have gained back every thing I lost except 1 lb-- WTH?? I did not drink and though I was not great 3 of 7 days last week -- gaining 9 lbs in a week? Seems impossible. Cannot keep losing and gaining the same 10 lbs. AAARGH. oh well-- cold slap in the face on this Monday morning. Mom and Dad are back from their trip but she is on one of her guilt missions-- not calling back (I wish I never had to call her-- I only do it becasue of my dad) or acknowledging my efforts to be civil. oh well...enough depressing stuff to think of I suppose for a Monday. Hope all are hanging in!

ATL, remember you've been sick, and fluids add a lot of weight too. You'll get this, hon. Remember, your mom installed those buttons she's pushing!
Fen, Grate, armadillos are unfortunately very common. We call them possums on the half-shell; they can't make it across the road either. They eat grubs, and can completely uproot your yard and garden overnight, feeding or building a burrow. AND, they carry leprosy. You can even become infected by handling the dirt they've been in.
Have appointments today, then funeral all day tomorrow. Miss Christine had severe alzheimers, and you may remember me talking about visiting her recently. Last night when I talked to her daughter, I reminded her that while I was alone with Miss Christine she told me repeatedly she was just waiting on Daddy to come and get her (she said he came for her every weekend). I told friend her Daddy finally came for her, and I know she's at peace.
Will check back in later, busy busy the rest of the day. Be good. Hope your mom's better, Fen.

I am here....was at the lake all weekend and couldn't check in...I have not read back but I will.....
I am good...behaved all weekend.....even while Hubs and his cousin got hammered......
terrible football weekend.....FSU lost, Jax Jaguars STINK...but at least Clay's team won...but he came home with a concussion......I hovered all weekend and he has a doctor's appt in the morning
