Happy Monday, friends! Very busy weekend as usual....and still didn't get everything done.....I only have 3 days to get myself ready for the trip.....speaking of which, Ruby...can I ask you to pm or email me your cell # or if you have a phone at the cabin so I can leave it for my family just in case? Of course, now my hubby is whining that he doesn't want me to go and he's afraid I won't come back.....hmmm, how did he figure it out that I'm gonna hide out at the cabin????

Bird-I hope you had a Wonderful Birthday!!! You are always so busy with your girls...I hope you had some time for yourself.

Sunny-You sure have had a rough time at work lately...I just can't imagine a mother leaving that mess for you all and not even telling you!!! And then you didn't even get your normal Sunday off??? You need at least 2 days in a row off for all of that! I hope today is better and maybe tomorrow you can do nothing...or at least do something just for you!!

Vicki...that is awesome about Sharla!! I have not heard about that movie but it sounds powerful.
I'm excited..but stressing because it seems I have so much to do both at work and home....I probably shouldn't have had Addy over the weekend but I missed her and really needed to see her. When she wakes up in the morning, the first thing I hear from the monitor is "Hi, Gigi".....and she keeps saying that until I get her out of bed. She really is a sweetheart and is what keeps me going!!!

Tony..It's great to see you and as usual you are always so upbeat! I should see if you are available to pick me up from BWI on Monday and drive me to Newark, DE? My family thinks I am too fragile to make the drive myself so my daughter is driving me on Thursday.....I think my son-in-law will pick me up on Monday.

Fen...I really have a foot fetish too. I wish I didn't....I would love to have a professional pedicure.

Swannie......I miss you!!!! I'm so glad that you check in and that you are healing. Thank you for not forgetting about all of us who care for you so much.

I just had to spend $6,000 at work for the Hazmat clean up from the murder unit....the police do more damage than anybody, but we can't be touching that stuff can we??

Fen...I am on my way with the hoof trimmers...I clip Hubs nasty, thick nails all the time...
Clay won his football game friday night and I pleased to report no injuries!!!!
Then he went to a Sweet 16 party at a fancy country club Sat...and My oldest, Grant, broke up with his girlfriend for about the 50th time......so no real news here

Ruby, I enjoyed the pics of the cabin! It is so peaceful and so beautiful! I only wish we could stay there a week or two! I really hate you having to drive back from the cabin and through Atlanta to pick us up. I wish we could take a taxi, but that would probably cost a fortune, since they charged me $92. just to take us from the airport to the hotel! Oh, Jan, if a snake had of even come close to me, I would have fallen off the ladder and broke every bone in my body! Ugh! I can't believe you didn't totally freak out! Grateful, that is wonderful news that hubs is afraid you won't come back! I hope he and the rest of your family and your job miss you so badly that when and if you do come back, they will all appreciate you alot more than they do! I mailed you copies for your family ALL the info and phone # on everywhere we will be, including Ruby's cell # and the cabin #. Hopefully you will get that today! Bird, I hope you had a wonderful birthday and did something nice for yourself! Georgie, I'm so glad your daughter made it home safely! Sunny, glad ou were able to get some rest! I took Chloe to the vet this morning and she had to have 3 vaccines plus the heartguard shot that last 6 months, because she will NOT eat the regular heartguard! It cost me $150, but she is worth every dime of it! Then she got ice cream when we got home and went to sleep, poor baby! Did anyone read my post #638? I hope so! Vicki, try to call me tonight or even better during the day tomorrow. Also Grate. I'd call ya'll but never know when it's a good time. Do NOT take an ATL taxi unless it would be cheaper than renting a car, since you are staying right at the conference center. Perhaps that would work even better, and could save you both money and stress. The drive from the airport to the center is not at all bad, though. I'd like to know the name of the hotel where you'll be staying. Call me, and we'll chat about it, OK? Grate, did you get the info from Vick? And HEH!, your husband is obviously feeling guilty or he wouldn't be worried. I too wish ya'll could stay a LOT longer. Barely time to hit the high spots AND rest in that short period. And trust me, NO one could find you there without directions, right Rog and RC?? :scratchinhead:
People are coming out of the woodwork wanting to stay at the cabin this season. Hubs categorically refuses, except for our children and best friends. I worry too about people with unruly (worse than mine!) children there, and you'll see why.
Swannie, I promise we'll take lots and lots of pictures for you. I wish with all my heart you could be there, and I'd definitely keep you too. Actually, the drive is not bad at all, since we're so close to the interstate or 4-lane highway (only 18 miles of country roads) and i've been very lucky for over 20 years making the trip. :racer: You can see the conference center from the interstate, and when MaryAnne and her little group visited, they drove down to it for a Muse concert and back that night. She was so happy and excited that night.
MB, glad you weren't hurt. It's the shock of the surprise that gets me too, since I'm not afraid of snakes. MAN! You must have a lot of murders there. Too scary. :eeew:

Ruby, I tried to call you all day. After talking with Grateful, we really don't want you to have to make that long drive to pick us up, so we were thinking about renting a car to drive to the cabin, or are you really impossible to find? We are staying at the Hilton Garden Inn/Sugarloaf, which is right next door to the conference and they have a free shuttle van that will take us anywhere we want to go within 5 miles. That is why we decided not to rent a car, although I had to pay $92. for the Gwinnett Airport Shuttle just to take us from the airport to the hotel! We have to be at the ATL airport on Monday @ 9:30. (both our flights leave at 11:00) I do wish we were able to stay longer, but I am just thankful to meet you both and experience your piece of Heaven that you enjoy!! I am going to pm you our phone numbers and the hotel phone # in case you need to reach us. Grateful, I got all packed today! ONLY TWO MORE DAYS AND I CAN'T WAIT!

Gah! I'm already depressed about the holidays. Realizing that the majority of my family doesn't really accept me due to factors beyond my control. And I'm expected to host most of them again this year. Is it wrong for me to value my "chosen" family here and elsewhere above my blood family? I just want to crawl into a hole when I think of having Thanksgiving and Christmas here again.
