ATL, if you get into a very bad bind, call me and I'll come help you. Not good with shuttling children anymore, but I'll take you to the doc or do anything you need doing. Threaten to french kiss your hubby if he doesn't cooperate, or use his toothbrush :eeew: Hubs has about driven me crazy today, and he won't go get in bed, insists on sitting in front of the big screen moaning. He's taking one med for day and one for night, and I was tempted to give him his nighttime at 2!
TayTay has swept, mopped, and dusted over half the downstairs today, and we've sorted,cleaned, and made decisions on a lot of stuff. Have tons of comforters, very nice ones, and blankets (4 electric!) I cannot use, so will either yardsale and give the money to cousin's daughter or donate it. The treasures for me are the very old things that were my grandmother's. (She died in 1964)
I'm leaving Thursday for the cabin (only an hour from where you live, ATL) so will work my butt off all day tomorrow too. May hire Tay again. Trying to get her interested in a Tech school nearby since she's bored with being home now that she's out of school and 18. She told me today I should be very proud of her that she's not interested in getting married or pregnant ray:. I guess she thinks my expectations and hopes for her are pretty low! I adore her boyfriend, but they are too young for that kind of decisions now. Eventually, if they are still together, they WOULD make beautiful babies, but I'm more than happy to wait a decade on that. She's seen her older half-sister (ex-B's daughter from first marriage) trying to manage 2 babies when she just turned 21, and she got a really great guy too. (((sigh))) The worries never stop, do they, just increase exponentiallly. Fen, how's your mother doing at the care place she's in? Making progress?
I'm very excited about my upcoming guests, just REALLY wish they could stay longer. It would takes weeks to see all the wonderful things around the cabin.

Gosh ATL - you sound so awful - please go to the doctor - hubs isn't helping one iota either. You obviously need some rest - and as someone else said - if the doc tells you to rest, maybe Hubs will listen!!! Stop worrying about your son - he will survive on junk for a couple of days - get yourself well!!!! Hugs to you and hope you get seen today.

It is pneumonia-- said it could be called walking pneumonia since I can still function but that I need to not walk or do anything for about 5 days. We will see if hubs can come through-- he has asthma and if he got pneumonia he would be in the hospital so I don't get why he is so non-chalant about it. Not sure how we will handle it all but it needs to be. Thanks for the tips-- probably will not be on much-- may read to stay conncected but not post since I can read on the iphone.

I have decided to bow out of the Holidaze this year. I informed Mrs. Fen this evening. Told her I would hole up at Tick Hollow instead. It's so crazy...with my family, it's the expectation that we should all be together and enjoy it...which we don't. With Mrs. Fen's family, it's the expectation of scads and scads of gifts. Mrs. Fen and I suggested we all draw names at Christmas, and her family agreed....but nobody adheres to it except for me and Mrs. Fen, which makes us look cheap. Her family has a twenty foot radius of gifts around the tree...no joke! It's so stressful to keep up with them.

I never feel that stress with friends...only with family.

I love you all. :h

ALT, I am very worried about you! Walking pneumonia is very serious, so don't you play around with it! Like Sunni said, your son will be okay eating junk for a few days. Just make sure hubs takes over his schedule of activities. You need to get in the bed, preferably behind a locked door and stay there for 5 days! MB, so sorry that antabuse is giving you headaches, but atleast it is not hungover headaches! Tomorrow I will be 30 days cigerette and alcohol free! Paul is trailing right behind me! I pray he won't drink while I am gone, but that is his decision and he will suffer the consequences. Fen, don't try to keep up with her family, just thank them for the gifts and then let them think what they want to! I'm happy you are not so stressed over the holidays anymore. Do what YOU want to do, not what others expect you to do! Roger, I'm so glad you got the bid and I know how good you are with floors! Have I told you lately that "I LOVE MY KITCHEN!"? My poor little Chloe went to the vet and she had to have 3 vaccines and the doctor said we should give her a shot for heartguard that lasts for 6 months, since I have such a hard time getting her to eat those monthly tabs. Anyway, all day yesterday and today, she has barely moved! Her hip is so sore, she can barely walk and she's been hiding under the bed and in my closet and it has really scared me! I pray she feels better tomorrow or I will worry sick about her the whole time I am gone! I got alot of house cleaning done today and I picked all the okra that was ready. The kale has already started coming up and it won't be long before the turnips start coming up! We went and visited our elderly neighbors for 2hours, because we hadn't seen them since last Christmas and they get so lonely. They gave us a bunch of eggplant and we made eggplant parmesian and fried okra for supper. I wish I could bring the rest of them to you, Ruby. We are going to the conference Fri night. We really couldn't leave the hotel by noon, but we will be ready to go as early as you tell us what time you are going to be there. That will give us 2 full days at the cabin. I wish so very bad we could stay ALOT longer! Maybe Kelly will lose her job tomorrow and won't be in a hurry to get back! She so needs much more than a 4 day rest! I pray she has a wonderful time and Ruby, you are so very kind to pick us up and take us back and let us enjoy your little piece of Heaven! I cannot wait to meet both of you! I will try to check in while I am gone, but it may be too difficult for me to see to type on my little phone. But when I get back, I will be uploading LOTS and LOTS of pictures! I love you all. Hi all
well just got home after a busy day and waiting for my kid to finish her homework so we can go to bed....Fen, I have a friend who sends me a big box of stuff every xmas and the I get really stressed out about sending her one back and not really having the time to do it (she really likes homemade gifts). Well she sent me a bday card and was saying how broke and busy she was so I suggested we give each other the gift of time, just send each other a card and spend the time we would have making the xmas box on ourselves, then send a photo and letter telling how we spent the time. Hope she likes the idea....ATL I have had pnue more than once and it knocked me flat. I have asthma bad too and thought I would die...take care. Off to bed....b

Yay! Roger Some really good news. It IS picking up for you, and it couldn't happen to a better worker.
Hubs is finally in bed (PRAISE THE LORD!!) A sick man is a plague to anyone near him. He seemed a little better, hasn't lost his appetite for sure! I washed about 10 loads of clothes and bedding today, talked to half a dozen people about the rentals, and solved world hunger. (I wish!) Finding some really great clothes in these bags for kids, so I know they'll sell quick if Gracie doesn't want some of them. Checked on this clock I rescued from cousins trash; it was made in 1955 in Germany by a famous company, has all solid brass works, and if running would be worth $350! What I've gone through so far is the tip of the iceberg and already found literally $1000's of stuff. Cousin is a crazy guy, but didn't want to be bothered with it, though he was more than happy to get the cash advance I gave him. Wish any of you who need some of this were closer, I'd happily share it with you. As it is, at least I know these good, clean comforters and blankets will help someone get through this winter. Grate, found some of the CUTEST little girl clothes, 2's and 3's. May bring some for you to see if you'd like.
ATL, hope you feel lots better tomorrow. When do you see the doc again. DO NOT get up too soon, and be sure you take vitamins. You need some of my chicken and dumplings!
Fen, bet you feel better already now you've made your decision.
Off to fold clothes and sort them now. Back to the same thing tomorrow. Have already started loading my car for the trip. Can't wait!
