    Army thread Sunday 18th

    Morning troopers,

I see beaglebut is about, so I'd better hurry up and get the thread started before we have a duplicate!

Have to go and meet up with my elder brother today. This year he seems to have decided he's got to check up on me every couple of months. For some reason he thinks I'm unaware alcohol is bad for one's health, so he has to keep reminding me. As an aside, he's relentlessly dull and lugubrious, and frankly spending an afternoon in his company is enough to drive anyone to drink. Think Father Paul Stone in the Father Ted episode "Entertaining Father Stone" and you'll get the general idea.

And with that, I shall bid you all a happy and peaceful Sunday.

Good morning Reccie and all to come

Shite. Rather you than me, Reccie. I'm quite happy seeing my family once or twice a year. Luckily I live almost 2000km from them, so it's easy to achieve. Ever since finding out that I had stopped drinking, I've had these "check-in" calls from my elder brother, during which he typically feeds me a few well-chosen cliches. Ugh... They're not a bad lot (except for my father who is becoming a bigger a-hole as time passes), just not quite my type.

It's overcast and cold today. I have to make a trip to the hardware store, though. I've a few things to fix around the house.

    Happy Sunday, everybody

      Morning guys.
Ugh families, they can be so very very trying at time.
Love what you said Tiggs "not a bad lot, just not my type" How accurate is that statement for so many of us!
Well I have spent the weekend in a very peaceful and lazy manner. Mr Starts is on one of his jollies to Eastern Europe and the dogs and I have been vegging about watching films, and generally having a very nice time. Well it was me watching films really

            Good morning
I'm looking forward to a lazy Sunday. Swim practice for my son at 10.30 and then absolutely nothing else planned for the rest of the day. Sounds good to me because I have a busy week ahead. No family visits planned here.

                Hiya Expatty
Was reading about your dilemma yest.
My view (for myself) is that I dont want anyone I know reading my thoughts and words here but will happily say I used a forum to help me then its up to them to find one. If they find this one, they have their freedom and anonymity too

Hiya starty :l and Mr T

Sounds like a lovely weekend starty. Haven't spoken to you much lately. Don't think either of us have been here as much as we used to.

Good luck with those DIY jobs, tips. There are a few jobs in my house that need doing too but, as usual, I'm procrastinating.

                  Morning expatty! :l

It is going to be a huge relief Tiggs
This month has been the hardest there. There are people there (clients) who are devastated I am leaving, their attention is verging on stalking and Im getting NO support at all. They are buying me stuff, taking souveniers of stuff I make or do and making me stuff. Frankly its very scary. They have also threatened to track me down on facebook and keep asking me on nights out. All being so lovely but with their emotional issues its scaring the crap out of me. I NEVER wanted them to become dependent on me like that.

Not bad starty - hope you're ok too? Sounds pretty grim at work, so maybe leaving is the most sensible thing to do. Perhaps not the best of times to be doing it though, but sometimes in life you've got to be prepared to take risks. I stayed far too long in a job I was unhappy in, and with the benefit of hindsight I now think it was a mistake.

I agree Reccy, my stress levels have been going up a lot and people have said I look pale and ill. And yep I feel pretty shitty at times.
I will find something else, I just hope it doesnt take too long. However a little break would be nice
