    The Canucks Co

    Thank you daaaahling!

So, you really want the Mountie, eh? Fine...

There were two, actually.. but the other one didn't fit in the picture, I guess

Well, my little flooding situation is under control but it will take days to put the basement back together *sigh* And then there are some rugs and all the horse blankets to dry and sort out again *double sigh*

On the up side of things, we'll be getting the hay area of the barn ready for Sunday and the arrival of 200 square bales. Whoot!!!! No more running out every 4-5 days to pick up 10 bales at a time! It'll probably take 3 or 4 trips (I'm using the horse trailer) but that should get me through the winter. VERY happy when that's done.

Well, I just finished a mini project (11pm I might add!!!) for some fellow Ontarian tart :H Check your email, tart!

I'm outta here, time to call it a day. Sweet dreams, everyone!!!
Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

          Hello again Ca-Knuckles!!
sunshine_gg;1206933 wrote: Oh thank you Stirls... yeah, I'll run right out and do that! Geeeez

Ok, I was going to report: I really was quite dreading this whole affair... thinking it must be awfully boring and dry and well, whatever. I'm just not a very 'ceremonial' person. The whole thing started 45 minutes late and I saw our dinner reservations slowly go out the window. So when the judge finally shuffled in, somewhat hunched over I thought 'Oh great, here we go'.

Well, I couldn't have been more wrong! He was hilarious! He cracked jokes, he was enthusiastic, and he seemed to genuinely be proud and happy to be there. It turned into a really fun and enjoyable event

A little funny thing, too... on my right sat a british bloke and next to him a gal from Kenya. After the shaking hands and handing out documents was done and we went back to our seats, her hubby handed her a 4 week old baby boy. So, in true grandmotherly fashion I went...'Ohhhhh... gimme that!' And she did. Mr. Wonderful, at that point had made his way to the front and tried to get my attention to tell me he was going to get the car. He glared at me and the baby. Said 'Dear.... a kitten, yeah... a puppy, maybe... but you're not bringing THAT home! :H And, it turned out, the mum lives on the island as well, in fact, she works as a emerg nurse at the hospital here and THAT'S why she looked so familiar. The british bloke shook his head and mumbled... 'my wife is never gonna believe that I sat in between 2 gals from Mindemoya.':H What are the chances of that?

After that, we had a lovely Italian dinner, I enjoyed my meal and iced tea, then stopped by little Missy and picked up some baked goods, kissed a sleeping peanut, and made it home by 12:30 or so. Phew.

          Have a fabulous Friday, Canuckleheads!!!!!
Great picture Sunny-bean. Sounds like you had a delightful afternoon and evening. And again congrats on both being a Canuck officially and on 30 days AF!

Great story GG and you look fabulous (as already stated). Once again welcome Canuck.

And why don'tcha post a pic of that handsome Mountie with ya???

Hiya Stirly, Techie and anyone else who may drop in.
Hiya RC and to Techie. We don't often get visitors - drop in more often, Techie.

Sunny - I was thinking of you yesterday at work. We received an e-mail from a potential client asking if a certain type of rubber matting that we sell is suitable for, in his words, "a place where horses are stabled."

RC - I gotta admit, even with an ugly mug, a Mountie looks great. Always loved their uniform.

Did we have our own Spammer as well? Oh and wasn't here to post him a link to my Spam recipe....:upset: I'm sure he would have enjoyed it! https://www.mywayout.org/community/f83/spam-53223.html

Well it's been cold here all day. Feels like it could actually snow here tonight. We didn't get any rain as I was hoping we would. A few hours ago I looked at temps on-line and it said 9.4C - feels like 6C. That was for Athens. Even colder here due to high winds. Blowing like crazy all day. Brrr. This girly is cold. Of course we'll get nothing close to the cold and snow that you guys will get at some point so I'll just shut up. I'm not really complaining anyway, more like commenting seeing as I'm alone here on the Canuck thread and talking to myself.

Sunny-bean, hope your weather continues to be nice.:sun:

                    Helloooo whirly stirly girlie!

Don't worry too much about talking to yourself; half the time that's how I feel on this thread. Not, that I don't do that anyways, but I try to keep it quiet. Worried that one day the nice men with the white jacket are gonna get me :H

Well, the weather wasn't nearly as nice today but at least the rain held off until tonight and I got 290 bales of hay picked up and stacked! Whooot! Gonna go for another load of 80 in the morning. So, the Taj Mahorse is finally starting to pull it's weight:

I didn't get around to posting much yesterday what with all that work going on. But I took some time out to groom horses in the afternoon sun. I brought them into the round pen separately to have some one-on-one time and Trouble's turn had me laughing until tears ran down my face. 3x he untied himself when I wasn't looking (brushing his rump, picking up his feet, etc.).. didn't move just looked at me with his lead rope between his teeth :H His previous owner had warned me that gate latches and the likes were no match for him and I think I believe her now. I'm curious to see if he can crack my 'horse proof' stall latches. Apparently, he used to let all the horses out of their stalls at his previous home :H

And that's about it for me... I'm thoroughly pooped tonight. And increasingly grateful to be sober, present, and capable.

                    Have a happy Sunday evening!!!

Let me know when/if you have some time during the day tomorrow and I'll give you a call. Let's get that website of yours spiffed up a bit

I haven't really got anything else... I'm outta steam! :H Dinner is in the oven as we speak and Mr. Wonderful should make a guest appearance any minute now.

Ohhhhhh.. no wait! I do have something. Put yer paws together and hope for the best with me, will ya? I went and got a barn kitty from the barn where I had the horses boarded the last 2 winters. Kinda fell in love with him last year in the Spring when he was just a lil guy. Anyways.. brought him home, he checked everything out and then HE checked out. He may be trying to get back to his old home... just worried about the highway and such.

Anywho... I'm hearing the Mr. - off I go! Night night!!!

                                Be well Canucks!
                                Psalms 119:45

?Start by doing what is necessary, then what is possible, and suddenly you are doing the impossible.?

                                St. Francis of Assisi

I'm not perfect, never will be, but better than I was and not as good as I'm going to be.
