I like restoring stuff. I renovated a set of good quality p.c. speakers yesterday. My deceased kitty MacGregor loved chewing on wires, especially the slim expensive type (think mobile phone chargers etc.) You're not meant to be able to fix a tear in these slim cables as they're so fiddly but by Jove I put me reading glasses on and spliced the darn thing in 5 different places! And set them up in the bedroom so I can hook them up to the laptop and watch Netflix movies in bed with really good sound.

Yes RC, I live in Vancouver. We typically have nice dry summers, but the raging forest fires happen in the interior of BC, it gets very dry and hot there. I've never had Denman Island chocolate...I will be on a quest to find some now.Nov 1 2006 avg 100 - 120 drinks/week

Hey hey, everyone!!!
I'm quite perplexed by your lack of confidence in my shake-making abilities
Happy to report, mixer, floor, and ceilings are in A-1 condition! So there! Wasn't bad, either... not sure about the oat texture but I'll stick it out for a bit.
Hello Katie! A Westener! How cool
Zennie... did McGregor have a sister? Named Amira? By God, that cat got through any wire in 0.3 seconds flat. But much like yours, she also had a preference for cell phone chargers.
Hiyas Stirly one!
Well, I'm just having a real quick lurk here... I've been Cinderelli all day and shampooing carpets, washing walls, etc. I must check my temperature... something ain't right :H
Later, lovely peeps!Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

Morning Cinderelli's and wannaB Cindererlli's. (dat's me) I've been up 2 hours and accomplished: soaking crockpot that seriously fricaseed itself (yep, Monday); disposed of 2 mice (one not is such good shape), fed and toileted 2 high energy critters and 2 survivor coffees that pretty much got my heart rate jacked up. Woo hoo. How's your day so far Canuckers??Psalms 119:45

Katie - I worked for a few months one winter at the ski resort on Grouse Mountain. I lived in a wooden cabin on the mountain that had the most gorgeous view of Vancouver harbour at night. As long as the clouds were high enough and didn't block my view.
I didn't get to explore Vancouver as much as I would have liked to, but did enjoy a few trips into the city.

Don't the cats get electical shock when they chew the wires? Crikey the voltage here is 220. I would think it would fry the little guys in a split-second.

Day so far has gone quite well. The whole weekend, really. Nice trip to The Mall yesterday for a bit of shopping - new top and cell phone for me.
Then today we went for a coffee overlooking the harbour and then for a drive to our local swimming pool that just happens to be in the middle of a lovely park. Here are some pictures of the grounds.
The rock formation in the background is actually a fountain. When it's turned on, the water falls down over the rocks and into the pond. It's very pretty indeed, especially at night when they've got spotlights on it.
And a lovely little chapel where weddings are held and they set up tables under big open tents near the pool for the receptions.
Hope you've all been having a lovely day. Off to check out the boards...For every 60 seconds that you are angry, you lose a minute of happiness.

Ohhhhhhhh... that looks just lovely, Stirls!!! I could SO go for a swim right now! Just finished (for now) at the barn... I was the cement mixer on duty today. Needless to say, I'm in dire need of a bath/shower. Yick.
Ohhhh.. RC.... Mr. Wonderful is on a row here, too! 9 mieces in just as many days! Thankfully, he's the hunter AND the gatherer. Yick, again.
Ok, back to productivity here... Hello to anyone else stopping by!!!Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

Gorgeous place Stirly. Those trees were just fascinating. Do you have an explanation? I'm guessing they've seen alot of winds??
GG I was so turned off by the disposal, I couldn't bring myself to reset. I'm sure I have not seen the last of them yet. Congratulations to Mr. Wonderful.
Off to work and make my coffee. I make it there now, so I don't sit around so long in the morning reading. I'm not nearly as late as I used to be.

Hi Sunny-bean and Cedar-belle and to all who drop by later.
The park is not that far from the sea and mostly the wind blows off the sea so most of the trees in that particular area are at a bit of a slant. Mind you in a suburb of Athens that we lived in many years ago, it rained for about three days straight which is very unusual for that area. Then we got really strong winds for a day and some of the taller trees ended up at about a 50 degree angle from the ground due to the earth being softened so much by the rain. They looked quite bizarre.
I came across this while looking at the video Reggie posted on the Undies thread. Which BTW, has been posted before and makes me laugh every time I see it. Anyway, I thought some of you might enjoy this "Canadian" video...

Hiya Stirly-- I don't think I'm delicate enough to be a belle.
Crazy about those trees in the softened earth. They must not have huge root systems and definitely would not withstand weather we have here.
