    I'm so sorry girls... never dawned on me that you would want to go on a road trip to meet up!

    Ok, so offically... anyone who would like to meet up on Sunday in Toronto, please PM Sidney! (Poor thing, she won't know what hit her) :H

    I only found out 2 days ago that I'm going (was kinda grumbly about, too) and then thought of Sid who lives in TO.. etc etc etc. So, by all means... Wally, RC... if you can make it, please DO! And anyone else who is close enough/willing to travel!

      Holy neglect Batman! Where did everyone go?? It's been a gorgeous long weekend here in cottage country. Bit chilly at night but all the better to enjoy a toasty little fire. Had an amazing visit with a horse herd yesterday. Apparently they behaved in a way the facilitator has never seen before. Approximately 20 horses lined themselves up around me in a show of relaxed, focused support. I thought they were all just soaking up the sun like me. A few laid down which apparently expresses trust by displaying vulnerability. Not sure what is all means but she felt they were showing me support and community. Kinda just what I need. It was so gorgeous out today, I sat in the sun with my snowsuit on of course and read a book for awhile. Still lots of studying going on and I'm still in my house...so far.....most importantly I am still smoke and wine free.

        RC, dahhhlink... you'll have my head and I'm really sorry.. we kinda went right through Bancroft today. Actually got lost thanks to the GPS lady. But it's been a long day... we were on the road by 8:30 and just got home.. after 11pm. There really wouldn't have been time to visit, even if I had known we were going to end up practically on your door step. NEXT TIME! :l

        Btw, had a lovely cappuccino (and a glorious huge piece of cake) with Sid on Sunday. What a lurvely gal and I kinda thought the might be shy... well, she ain't! :H

        Anywho.. I'm thoroughly pooped - it's bed time, ladies 'n germs. Good night, God bless!

          Sounds like you had quite a round trip there GG. Car troubles, GPS troubles--hope you didn't run out of gas too! As for not contacting me...hrrumphhh There is no excuse unless it was the middle of the night in a snow storm. Even then you should have come to rest til it passed. Do ya feel bad yet?? lol

          I understand time constraints but disappointed we didn't get to meet one way or another this weekend. What brought you into my area anyways?

            :H Oh, I had a feeling you wouldn't let me off easy.

            Our last stop yesterday was in Tweed.. and the GPS lady sent us through (albeit beautiful) country side and up and down some roads which we eventually abandoned.. glare ice, very steep, and we were loaded to the top (the truck, that is). And at some point, we were actually a little worried about when the next gas station was going to appear :H

            Well, a rather expensive trip, considering that the main reason I DIDN'T want to go, was money. Well, 4 hours into the trip, I was $384 lighter, thanks to the alternator acting up again. At least, Crappy Tire in Parry Sound had us fixed up and back on the road in a little over an hour.

            Anywho... it's all done now and we're home safe and sound. So, what's been going on around here?

            RC, read about your induction into the horsie herd - very cool! Must have felt great! My boys were rather nonchalant about my return this morning... the only thing that really seemed to matter was the question of the location and quantity of mints :H I'm telling you, though... it felt soooo good, looking at my chubby ponies. The place we picked up rubber mats yesterday is a 'breeding facility', I guess they do some boarding, too.. and oh, man :upset: I only saw 4 horses up close... all 4 should have had a LOT more meat on them, this time of year and their feet were absolutely horrendous! In fact, the (very sweet) stallion's feet were the worst I have ever seen. It truly broke my heart. I know that I would never let my horses stay there.

            Ok, I gotta get my butt in gear... back to you!

              Well we will have to get together when the snow goes. Maybe I can come north. Glad you got home safe and sound Sunshine. Must have been a very long trip. It was such fun to meet you. It felt like meeting an old friend rather than a new one. Take care all.

                hey to all my canuck pals.. the winter is almost over and the warm patio weather will be upon us. You know BBQ's, pools, cocktails.. (ugh) what are your plans to escape the drinking traps of summer?

                  Hiya Sid. Hope all is going well with you and your family.

                  Caper - congrats on your AF time. Keep up the good work. Can't answer the pool and BBQ question as we have neither. :H Seriously tho', there is not that kind of thing here -pool parties and such where part of the focus is the big beer fridge or the cocktails. But most people have wine or beer with their meal, including my husband who has a glass of wine every day with his mid-day meal. I pour it for him and it never bothers me so I can't really give much advice. And when friends drop over for a meal, or we go out to eat, it's the same thing. Always wine and/or beer. Just not interested.

                  Thanks again for all of your kind words when Mr. Stirly was in the hospital. He is coming along well, is in his third week back at work and as of yesterday, started going for his evening walks again, albeit a shorter distance than the 4 to 5 kilometres he used to do. He's missed them a lot and is hoping to build up his leg muscles that have weakened since he's not been able to do them over the last while.

                  P.S. I did look back at your pictures and they are stunning. Sunny - that barn is a work of art. And loved all of the pictures of the snow. We only got a light dusting of of it at one point and it was gone within an hour. :upset:

                      Just bizzy, dontcha know! Very glad to read that Mr. Stirly is continuing to feel better and stronger... I can't imagine how stressful this must have been for both of you.

                      Caper, I'm with ya! Let's get Spring going. Can't wait to get out and dig in the dirt. Of course, this year, there'll be TONNNNNS of gardening to do out at the barn. Whoohoo! :H

                              Finally success posting the picture. The red powder is cinnamon, which I was told helps prevent damping off, as we can no longer buy DAMP OFF. It is now considered a noxious chemical like weed killers.
