      Yoooo-hooo! Anybody home here?

I've been slaving at the barn all weekend (and most of today *uggh) and here are the fruits of my labour:

Folks, I'm having a devil of a time these past few days. You'd think staying busy should be enough to keep me outta trouble... but I've added Antabuse back into the mix. I will prevail, dammit!

I may have to copy that bathroom gg, wow, love the panelling. Good for you for knowing yourself and taking the Antabuse if it will help. Do whatever you need to keep busy, your baking usually gives me some inspiration (hint: banana bread)

Hi RC, forgot to mention I had sushi couple nights ago. Had amazing roll I've never tried before, deep fried roll (strange but amazing; tempura crispy seaweed!) I'll be having that again soon I'm sure.

My sugar cravings are settling down a bit, can't really blame all that on AL anyway; I am a woman! I'm still AF and am comfortable with that right now. When I actively think about drinking; I actually dread it and the effect I know it'll have on me at work, or the fear that I'll get sucked back in.

Have good AF night Canucks :-)

GG your barn is prettier than my cottage. I would love to post photos of the cottage but can't seem to follow instructions. Three bottles of homeade wine left in the cottage. After that we will be wine free here for the first time ever. I am so looking forward to not having to look at wine bottles. The other booze doesn't bother me or call out to me.

Spring is in the air. The snow is melting and here in the river valley it's almost gone. Getting married tomorrow and it's supposed to be in the mid-twenties. No nylons necessary if I can find the time to get some sun on these pale legs.

Our wedding dinner is at our favourite sushi restaurant. Love dragon eyes !! Best sushi I ever ate was in North Vancouver at a place called Gen Sushi.

Have a fantastic first day of spring Canucks.

I do this for my children, my grandchildren, my health, my peace of mind, and mostly for the opportunity to learn to live with my true, unfiltered, clear-headed, vulnerable self.

Hey Noodles. BC keeps pretending its Ottawa. I have no idea why. Can someone please straighten the Canadian weather channel out?? I am sure its their fault.

Question: Is this too much hockey? From November to May, every second night for three hours, and sometimes every night for three hours, and then some days six hours because there are two games. Dinner is pretty much always in front of the tv. I know, we are Canadian and all of that.... But I suspect that 27 years of every winter to midspring.... nothing else but Hockey gets done, (by Mr. Kaslo) and the sound alone makes me feel like my head might just fall off. So please, set me straight.

I have to say, this is one of the reasons why I drank so much.... and I always get stuck with the cleaning up too. But in someways its good, because I can get away from the damned hockey game.

Oh Kaslo of the never ending Sn*w :l

How very nice of you to drop in here and I'd hide the remote!
Thankfully, I can't really relate to such hockey obsession. Could you perhaps persuade the Mr. to tape games and watch them (ff through commercials, cuts time in half!) at other times? Mr. Wonderful informed me that F1 season has started and that he will hold the VCR hostage on Sundays. Fine by me.

And the cleanup thing has got nothing to do with hockey.. that's just lazy :tsk:

Hope you can come to some sort of arrangement. That reminds me... 27 YEARS??! You put up with that for 27 YEARS??? You're a saint in my books. That is all.

Well thats ONE who agrees with me then. Its hard for me to know how much is too much. He DOES tape the games, but then...he watches them. He works all day, and that is what he does all evening. I sew, read, dream of my garden, and I used to drink. Thanks Sunbutt. All other aspects hes ok, good even. In summer we do stuff. Winter spring is tough though.

I was curious what other canuckles have as experience, if the national er affliction/sport is annoying to them as well. I really dont have too much to complain about. Ha ha.

                            kaslo, sunny 8 degrees!

Hey Canuckles, Guess where Mr. Tips and I are? In Old Quebec. If you've never been here and you don't mind walking, you HAVE to visit historic Quebec. It's like going to a small European city. The walled old Quebec is so quaint. It's right on the St. Lawrence River so lots of water views. We're on our honeymoon. I was very touched by all the wedding wishes. We had a great, intimate ceremony at Ottawa City hall then met our kids in a Sushi restaurant in Hull, Quebec (right across the river from Ottawa) and when we got to the cottage our 'drinking' buddies had used the hidden key to access the cottage and had decorated it in rose pedals, heart shaped balloons, ribbons, crepe paper, confetti, fake diamonds, white flowers and feathers, mini champagne bottles filled with bubbles, heart shaped candies, and the piece de resistance was a chilled bottle of ICE WINE and two lovely fancy glasses. NO WONDER I DRINK!!

The good news is we have agreed (as newlyweds) not to make our own wine and to only buy it on the weekends. This is huge. It's not quitting but it's a start.

                              Again, thanks all.

Hey, hockey is on ALL the time at my kids and ex-husband's place. it can really take over the house. I am glad Mr. Tips is not a sports nut as it can be pretty depressing to have to compete with a little black piece of rubber most evenings..

Thanks also re your thoughts on Hockey and too funny regarding the competition, I hadnt thought of ii quite like that, but you are right. I just think its ALL the SAME.
