          I had to search out this thread, as I want to talk with my fellow canadians.
          I am avoiding doing something that I promised I would do.
          I have a piece of Canadian doggerel running through my head

          "A promise made is a debt unpaid, and the north has it's own harsh code"

          Does anyone remember that? It's from the "Cremation of Sam Magee", a poem by a Canadian poet Robert Service.

          When you think about it, that is a pretty weird little poem. We had to study and memorize parts of it in grade school. Okay that was a long time ago, and I'm pretty sure they don't make students memorize poetry anymore but STILL. How did that weird little poem make it onto our curriculum?

          And THEN I remembered international songs we had to learn, especially from other countries in the commonwealth (see it really was a long time ago) and they made us learn "Waltzing Matilda" from Australia.

          Have you read the lyrics from Waltzing Matilda? I was in grade two, that would make me six years old. NO WONDER I have problems.

            Howdy and almost Happy Thanksgiving, Canucklets!
