Sunshine, I live in the good ol capital but am originally from northern ontario, lake of the woods land! The canal is all ready for skating and even though it's freezing, the skaters are out!
Sunshine just wanted to say I am happy to find this thread, have read some of the back pages of this site and love the laughs and the positive vibes.
Hope your finding a way to keep warm, am thinking about learning how to knit!
:thanks: for the warm welcome! On a mission, and the only option is success. My family and I deserve a better life, an AF life.:h

Good Afternoon, GG and Canuckistas,
It's a snowy day here in Wisconsin, and I am taking a break from my housecleaning to pop in and wish everyone a peaceful AF Saturday. The temperature is supposed to go to 18Degrees Below (F) so schools are already closed for Monday. I, however, will be back at work.
:welcome: Halo.
In other news... it's practically Spring here today!! -6C! Bring out the Bermudas!
Now, onto some business tasks. INSERT SNORING SOUND HERE.
But, I'll be baaaack.
xoxo Rusty, aka Crusty, per Sunni's new name for me.

:l There ya are, CRusty!!!
Yikes... I feel like I've moved to the tropics! Bundle up, woman!
Are you working working today, or domestic goddess working?
I managed to do SOME dishes today... that's it on the home maker front. But, I've been working most of the day.
Sometimes, being a bit of a perfectionist (anal!?) is a real pain... I had declared this job done before Christmas, then while starting on a new project, stumbled by accident across a solution to something I had already discarded for this one... well, long story short (too late!).. it was bugging me and bugging me.. so, I spent the day going back and changing/fixing stuff. Sigh.
Well, it's close to 11pm... I probably ought to pack it in for today. Hope you all have a fabulous Sunday!!!Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

Crusty Rusty and Sunshine, I don't think you can get two opposite MWO tags! Hope you both had a wonderful, wonderful weekend. Have almost convinced myself that I am enjoying the winter, almost! Wouldn't mind being able to wear bermuda shorts though..
Looking forward to some skating, with perhaps a beaver tail or two! If anyone visits the capital, a skate on the canal with a beavertail after is a must..
Don't work too hard or we may all get a bit crusty! On a mission, and the only option is success. My family and I deserve a better life, an AF life.:h

Hi all. Gee the last time I had a beavertail was in Halifax. In fact I didn't know they were around elsewhere. So good but can't go there after my excesses over the hols.
Freezing rain here tonight. But tomorrow is another day and it's going to be a good one (she says optimistically).

Late Sunday *wave* to all... cold, wet, or otherwise impeded
Beavertails! Yes! Hey, didn't they have to rope off 1/2 of downtown Ottawa because Pres. Obama wanted a beavertail? :H
In Tobermory, there's a little shop right by the water advertising beavertails. Unfortunately, in 6-8 years of trying, I caught them open TWICE! I think. Once, for sure.
Well, for some reason, it feels like it's been a long day... so, I'll bid you good night. Sleep tight, no socializing with the bed bugs, etc...Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?

More like all of downtown! He also bought some cookies shaped like the maple leaf for his daughters from a bakery, that was a huge marketing coup for the bakery!
The sidewalks and roads were like a skating rink today, we can complain about the snow but it is the freezing rain that really takes the cake. I had a few choice words when falling down just walking to the garage! How'd you fare with the freezing rain Jazi's mum?
Off to Florida in a week, will send some warm weather our way (hopefully!)On a mission, and the only option is success. My family and I deserve a better life, an AF life.:h

Sunni, don't even want to convert F to C - both are waaaaay to cold for me to even think about.
Wanted to say how lovely and sunny it is here, but it's grey and drizzling. Still beats what you have to contend with.
Snuggle up!14 October 2013 was the first day of the best days of my life!

Sunshine it may be cold for awhile, love your positive energy when you talk about your work. I really like challenges and new opportunities as well, better to try something new and fail that to never have tried at all! Stay warm everyone, am thinking about going to an AA meeting for additional support. Have heard various opinions about AA but thought I'd try it , am nervous though. On a mission, and the only option is success. My family and I deserve a better life, an AF life.:h

Do it, Halo! Go to an AA meeting. If I could, I'd take you with me to mine tonight!
I was (literally) shaking in my boots when I headed out to my first meeting 2 1/2 months ago... it occurred to me a month later (at the Christmas Dinner/meeting) how in one month those doors went from signifying defeat and fear to warmth and safety. I had toyed with the idea of AA for years.. and had come up with all sorts of reasons why it wouldn't work for me, why I could never fit in with 'those people'... surprise, surprise
If nothing else, just give it a try for a couple of weeks. Find open meetings and go to different meetings/groups... they all do things a little differently.
Good luck... let us know how you make out! :lOkay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?
