Hey again all,
Yes GG she is! Nice to see you around!
Thanks Molly! Can't wait ourselves
MrsA - well done on checking in rather than 'checking out'. I am running a 10K in just over a week and I need your advice anyway, so there!

We call it an open adoption, but actually it is not. Open adoption was what they had agreed on but this is what they found out after a ton of paperwork and whatnot: Adoption, apparently, no matter what kind, ends up with the child being a ward of the state (even if only on paper for a day) before the transition to the new parents. And, technically, even in an open adoption, where the biological and adoptive parents have agreed on things and the adoptive parents fulfill all requirements, the state has the last word and could give the child to someone else.
Hence, they all agreed on a different route... The kids signed over guardianship to the 'new parents' and the new parents have 'full custody' per court documents of the little one.
The bottom line for all involved was to allow biological family (as a whole) to be part of baby's life and he will know from very early on that he has 2 sets of parents, 4 sets of grand parents, etc...

:H Zenny.. you's a nut!
I'm not sure what the exact process would be.. but it would have to go through the courts and I can't really see any judge pulling that child out of his surroundings and family 'just because' his biological parents had a change of heart.
Then again.. what the hell do I know?Okay, WHO put a stop payment on my reality check?
