Getting a divorce
Hi there .. I lurk a lot, but don't post very often these days. I wanted to stop into this thread and offer a (hug) and to say that we are similar .. I am your age and my ex walked out after 20+ years of marriage .. He was rather emotionally absent, and we grew to be more room-mate-like than husband and wife. Like you, we'd have a drink or two together to relax, etc... but mine turned into secret alcoholism (heavy) and being alone a lot, and his remained at the social level and he was busy and his career advanced. He never told me he left because I drank too much - and I doubt he really knows how much. But I believe if I had been sober (or a normal social drinker), that it would have been different; we may have had a chance at least. We are currently getting our divorce papers ready.
