    UNDIES IN OCTOBER

It's Saturday undies!best day of the week so time to get up and into the day!

I love my iPad as I can lie in bed and read the news without having to go down to the dairy for the paper! Now that the rugby is over it is all about the upend coming election. I feel a bit depressed about the prospect of another 3 years of this government :upset:

KTAB I loved this when I was a kid. One of my brothers and I used to sing it with sillly accents on long car trips and drive everyone else nuts :H

Hope your doggie is feeling better bridge :l

    Beagle - love your paragraphs

Rags -looking forward to your starting the Nov thread from exotic climes for the second month in a row :H:H

          UNDIES IN OCTOBER

Morning Happy and Ruby and anyone else who is just emerging from under the doona!!

Busy weekend planned here. Today we are doing a bit of the annual "men's shirts shopping" (Mr B will only buy shirts that are long-sleeved, have two pockets and are plain. Believe me, they are not that easy to find, but yesterday I came across some by accident in Ezibuy!!), some election propaganda delivering, cooking up a storm this arvo and going to a friend's farewell from Wellington (retiring and heading to a sunnier part of the country) in the evening. And two reports to finish tomorrow which will require slaving over the computer, but they are at a stage where I shall enjoy it!

Cooking today: meat loaf with sun-dried tomatoes and basil for dinner tonight, chick pea marsala for dinner tomorrow (dont you think curries are so much better when they have been left for the spices to really sink in?), sushi salad for lunches tomorrow and Monday, thai spring rolls to take to the farewell tonight and the weeks supply of hummus!!

All this hard work will be rewarded by a weekend in the Hawkes Bay next weekend - I am finishing work early next Friday, and then we are driving to Napier and next Saturday going to the Steely Dan and Stevie Winwood concert. I bought these tickets about 6 months ago, and they have been attached to the fridge by a magnet since then. It couldn't have come at a better time as we are really in need of a break which doesn't involve "dealing with stuff".

I just really hope they are dealing with the aging process better than Meat Loaf :H:H

Rikki dont lose that number has been an ear worm for the last day or so since our (young) admin person asked who Steely Dan were. I sang that for her, and she replied "Oh yes, I think Gran used to like that song" :H:upset:

And the best bit is that we managed to find a good accommodation deal at a farm, with cooked breakfasts and late check out

Morning all - I'll be back later but just had to share this little item. And I can swear, without a shadow of a doubt, that this would NEVER have happened to me.

meat loaf recipe was just in the last weekend's paper's magazine in an article about how to make kids eat vegetables without them realising it :H:H

                    Easy peasy - mush up
                    • 500g mince
                    • 3/4 cup breadcrumbs
                    • 1 grated carrot
                    • 1 grated courgette
                    • 4 thinly sliced spring onions
                    • a thinly chopped up celery stalk1/2 pepper thinly sliced2 tbsp roasted pine nuts1/3 cup chopped up dried tomatoes1 beaten egg2 tbsp fresh basil
Bung it all in a greased up loaf tin, cook for 25 mins at 160 degrees, and Bob's your aunty!! If you serve very thick slices to the locusts with lots of tomato sauce on top, they will never know about the vegies :H

You sound like a bloody good cook Missy. That goes for all of youse actually, judging by the ingredients and passion for cooking on display here.

That recipe looks interesting....I have never made meatloaf but I think the kids might eat it.

Dragging myself and the kids to a new gym this morning........feeling so much out of my comfort zone right now......I don't know why I hate trying new things.

Ireland trashed Australia last night......didn't quiet seem an even match though. I don't think Australia will play such a young inexperienced team again.

:upset: I missed the match. From memory, there are a few games in a series, non? So hope to catch one even if it's a replay.

Enjoy the gym today Ella. Getting out of our comfort zone is what we need to do in recovery i find. You'll love it!

One more match in the gold coast next week. Last year Australia won both matches in Ireland.
