    UNDIES IN OCTOBER

Guitarista;1192925 wrote: Well Bridge, it's not that scary, and no-one gawks at you! And you don't have to speak/share if you don't want to. It's well worth at least one visit. You will find it interesting, very real, and likely inspiring at the very least. Though they tell me all meetings are different, i.e. diff mix/dynamic, you will be welcomed with open arms. Wear a hat or something if you have to.

Hiya Fick's! How is your weekend shaping up?
Once you've walked into an AA meeting there's no going back. You're 'out'.
I'm sure everyone's already well aware that I've got a problem though, it has to be said. Memory isn't that fickle.
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

        Anything like banana peel?

Hey G-man - weekend is looking better than last few days of industrial strength stress meltdown

Trying to think what i can do in the here and now to get positive before next week

Thoughts of running off to ashram, taking a month off on stress leave... um.. dumb thoughts but obviously wishing for a way out

I understand. But remember everyone else at that meeting is an alcoholic, and understands and 'knows' you. You might be surprised at the understanding, empathy, the welcome, and support. Anyway, food for thought. A few years ago you wouldn't see me within cooee of a bloody AA meeting.

I reckon some meditation will help Fick's?

it's moving that helps G, getting out of where i currently am can change my perspective radically
picking an ashram means i won't be doing the 'holiday' thing and spending and partying
it is very cheap and the things to do include bushwalking and yoga
i've just been through a crap time with a boss who won't let me take leave
i had to fight like a cat to get christmas leave

Sounds good re yoga and bushwalking. Boss not allowing you to take leave is illegal, and he/she will have arse kicked severely if they are withholding leave. Despite some protestations and 'cultural' beliefs, your workplace is not protected from decency, a fair go, and the law.

                  Miss B,
it occurs to me in the ancient religions (i'm thinking jewish in particular here) the age of 13 was pretty important. I think around that age young people become the navigators of their own lives. Clearly they don't always make the best choices at that age, but I can't help but feel if they are trying to figure things out it isn't helpful to have the parents ranting on about their own stuff. I know it was around that age when I had the most ballistic arguments with my own parents.
                  Just a thought

                    Hmmm food for thought indeed.

Anyway I'm going to make a nice supper and turn in on Frog time.

                    Nighty night all.

                      Thanks G,
I know and I am in a very boring process of pointing that out. Very depressing that such a pig is in charge of other people. I've just stayed away these last two days because its all too hard. Senior people hate to be bothered with this crap but this moron is making it inevitable that it will get escalated. When they were handing out the brains this person was at the end of the queue.
                      Ahhh such is life
But onto things I can control.. myself.. and there i am not succeeding
in the past getting away was a good way to kick start my resolve

He is such a lovely young bloke. And he is proving to be very good at managing his way though all the crap.

                        off to bed for us!!

it does my heart good to check in on you all.
you see G, it can be a brave thing just to check into this thread sometimes.
i'm not saying that anyone does actually avoid me, i'm not that paranoid at the moment.
however, there are times when one is feeling very vulnerable and popping in can be disastrous
much love to all and see you on a better day
i'm off to eat dinner cheerio
