    UNDIES IN OCTOBER

LillyE;1186326 wrote: Bridge, looks like you're the keen cook of the thread. Me too. (Though haven't been doing enough cooking of late.) Look forward to swapping recipe tips. Paneer ... yum.

Not just me, no. We are all heavily in to our tucker here :H

Anyone else have weird reactions from friends about their quitting drinking? In contrast my best friend's reaction was so totally awesome it brought tears to my eyes. Guess that's why she's my best friend.

Completely relate to this yes. Some one that I thought
was my best friend was in the end the strongest antagonist to me giving up. I realised in retrospect that she has a drinking prob of her very own, only wanted to serve her own needs, and wasn't really such a good friend at all....
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

When would you type silly Bridgey??? Mmm???

Good on ya Reggie! onward and upward..shame your friend has shite taste in music...wont open that link...

        Another walk done and dusted...

LillyE - I've worked out the degrees of friendship probably have something to do with the degrees of how much someone eggs you on to break something you've told them is important to you. Those friendships formed over drinking are changing for me...

Whats on the dinner menu to night undies??

            Yep.
            What she said.
A real friend may well already be worried about your drinking. A real friend would say 'If it's important to you, then it's important to me to help you'

Still trying to get yesterday's Meatloaf debacle out of my head. Will not activate Reggie's link.

Now watching NRL - thanks to Missy - barracking for NZ but haven't a clue as to what it's all about.

Sadly, said farewell to the pisshead mates years ago. Sad because I miss them but don't miss the 3-day hangovers that usually ensued.

Linguini Aglio e Olio - with oil, garlic, chili flakes, p. reggiano followed by a crisp, clean vinaigrette salad. Comfort food.

YES! One of my besties who had been through all the hammering I gave myself after the BIG BANG we have no money, just said when I told her I was cutting it out - I was worried about you love...this is the same friend who cooked me bacon and eggs one morning and offered to cut up the egg coz I was shaking so badly....

                        UNDIES IN OCTOBER

                        Evening,

Meatloaf is not taking my call's at present, which worries me, but i've got Loop on the job to follow up.

Congratulations on the job thing Reg. Must be a huge load of your mind. A mate of mine (drummer) works in a similar area, and has had to go through same stuff.

Lilly E, my mates, the real ones, (of which are the only ones i hang around) are totally supportive of my decisions around grog. And you know, I would expect nothing less, and i would be as respectful. RESPECTFUL being an operative word here, i suggest. Depression and anxiety are greatly reduced when we stop drinking, and stay stopped. In my case, they disappeared entirely.

Not up with chook and teddie adventures, but hope all are travelling well.

It's so true. It is interesting to see how people react to it and it is invariably the people who have a problem themselves who find it most challenging. Fortunately it doesn't bother me too much as other friends have - and will be I'm sure - when I actually open up to them more - great.

How excited I am you all love your food - excellent! Aglio e Olio - there's a good comfort standby I haven't made in ages.

I'm cooking up a big pot of veggie bean chilli with lots of herbs, spices and veggies, which I'm going to have with quinoa & lentils and jalepenos & a bit of yoghurt & parmesan on top.

On a bit of a healthy kick lately but not always so healthy. Last night I had delicious tapas and churros out at dinner - almost made up for the lack of Sangria.

Swilling a large bottle of San Pellingrino...
