UNDIES IN OCTOBER
Well I have had a nice hour of quiet here since my sister left! She is a complete star, so very generous and with a heart of gold ...... but she talks all the time and at high decibel. And Mum is going a bit deaf. Anyway, they went off to a movie this afternoon and sis will head home to Hamilton tonight.
Tomorrow she (big sis) gets to go to the RWC final ........ she and two of her sons and their partners. Honestly Undies, this is such a nice story ........ they are all on pretty low incomes but have all been putting aside $10 a week since it was announced that NZ was hosting the RWC because they are really into their rugby. And the fund has had to be raided a few times for various reasons. A couple of weeks ago they had to make the decision about whether to buy last minute tickets for the final or not, but didn't have enough money to buy tickets for all of them, and they had decided that if all of them couldn't go, then none of them would. So they decided that none of them would and that they would just spend it on Xmas holidays instead!
Anyway, two weeks ago, one of her sons , who has just completed his welding apprenticeship (and he is my godson, so I take complete credit for his succeess!!), got presented with two tickets to the final by his boss as his annual bonus. So now they are all going and got tickets at a discounted rate and have money to be here for Xmas as well.
so it was a happy day all around.
