UNDIES IN OCTOBER
I tried to cook squid once and it was a major disaster. Mind you I was taking instructions from a friend who is a "once over lightly" sort of person and not particularly interested in the finer things of life!!
All good here. More crap again, but nothing like the last two days.
Mr B is very sad and emotionally exhausted, so we are having a quiet night at home. Just went to the fresh market and got ingredients for the easy-peasy chicken liver pate (stove top recipe - ready in an hour and makes bucket loads!!), fresh crunchy bread, fresh asparagus (and hollandaise :H) and some blue cheese and quince paste for afters!!!
We shall retire with all that on a big platter and sit on the couch and watch the rugby :H If we dont fall asleep first
But I have to say that with everything else that has been going on, I've had some really great training sessions this week. Wonderful one today where I did sprints at 5-minute intervals and felt like the wind!! (although in reality more of a slow coastal breeze than a full on Wellington southerly!!)Never give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

tawnyfrog;1195962 wrote: Cheeses thrice, Missy ... do I have to ask again? LOL LOL LOL How did your Labne go?
- Fruit for Xmas cake and Xmas pudding and florentines
- stuff for a really good terrine (I have a new recipe from the Women's Weekly!!) that I can make and slice up to take to successive "bring a plate" events)
- Crazy Zeus yogurt (local brand, bought in 5kg quantities and really good!) for labne that can be transported in small quantities to picnicsstollen (proper Dutch stuff, not the crap that they sell in the supermarket at inflated prices)my favourite Spanish peach flavoured grape juice that usually gets sold for about $3 at Xmas.
Tomorrow brings the unexpected in the form of my sister who is coming to see Mum for the day. She only let me know an hour ago :upset: She is lovely, but one of those people who talks ALL THE TIME!! Mr B and I were laughing earlier about how this will ensure that we dont sleep in, get out into the garden to do some weeding and do a few things in the garage and the office that have needed attending to for some time.
OK - rugby about to start ..... who shall I support I wonder??:HNever give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Oh, that'll be Mr B then (the handsome one with the big thighs) :H:H
Yep, I have re-gained the plot here. Taken some active steps to re-gain calm on the farm and it is working.
Thanks to everyone for your support this week when I was losing it!! :lNever give up, for that is just the place and time that the tide will turn

Undies I am now intimate with the inner workings of a cistern.
I have also drawn an analogy (in my own scattered brain) comparing the repair of a dunny (or performance of other challenging, pioneering tasks) with the challenge of sobriety.
We may crack that one open one night when we are all bored shitless.....:HIf your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?
