Back from Tick Hollow. It was so warm this weekend, I worked shirtless. Now I'm burned, of course...on areas that haven't seen the light of day since I was a toddler!

This morning at sparrowfart (tip of the nib to Sun!) I heard the pitter-patter of little skwerly feet on the floor of the loft above the bedroom. I leaped out of the aero-bed, fumbled for my shorts and tee-shirt, glasses, flashlight, etc. Went out into the main area, switched on the light and yelled "HEY"!!! Kicked open the front door in case my kinsman wanted to exit that way instead of the loft exhaust fan from which he entered. He chose the exhaust fan route and nearly broke all skwerly land speed records departing! :H I was peeved that he broke the skwerly code of honor by invading the nest of a kinsman, but Mrs. Fen speculated that our cabin has probably been in his family for twenty generations as a winter home! He is probably just as peeved with us. I am back there on Wednesday night, at which time I will encase the fan with chicken wire to serve as a deterrent to skwerly egress.

Rog, you and Sue will have to come up here...I'm starting a work camp...ummm, I mean a clothing optional "fun" camp for peeps! I will provide people with fun activities such as wood cutting, hickory and black walnut harvesting, skwerl deterring, roofing, tree trimming, dry-walling and painting. For kicks, we'll go skinny-dipping at Governor Dodge state park and cow watching and/or tipping. :H Do I have any takers?

ATL - watch it with those bouncy castle things - I went on one of those once - and did a somersault - and broke my nose! I used to be wonderful on a trampoline years ago - and got on the bouncy castle thing - after a few drinks - WRONG move!!! Brought my knees up to my chest - and CRACK !!!! Years ago - but I will never go on one again!!! Silly me.

jan - no, you didn't miss me posting - I just haven't really said anything about it - I am going to surprise my mum for her birthday. she doesn't know I am going. I checked and made sure she will be in on Thursday afternoon by making her think she is having flowers delivered - but it will be ME arriving - in England. I leave here Wednesday afternoon and arrive in UK Thursday morning. Get to my mums Thursday afternoon. I wasn't going to say anything 'cos so many on here are struggling cash wise but this is a special occasion. the last time us four siblings were together was 17 years ago at my dads funeral. My parents divorced when I was 18 and the last time my mum and all us four siblings were together was 35 years ago!!!!!!!!! THIRTY FIVE years!!!!!! So we thought it would be awesome for us all to be together with my mum for her birthday. I am getting excited about it. I work tomorrow and Tuesday though and am making lists galore in the meantime. It was BOB's idea (Big Older Brother) and I think it is great that is has all come together.

Fen - where are my Walnuts? And I can't skinny dip.

Oh FEN! :H. If I went topless I'd kill grass and wildlife, not to mention possibly blinding my snoopy neighbors! Hmm, there's an idea. Honestly though your rodent cousins can cause extensive wiring damage, even a fire, so as endearing as they are keep them out of the cabin. We had one that tormented me, so I tormented Hubs, to close up a little gap in our eave. It scampered around between the floors all night.
MB, are you saying your a suicide blonde? One of my fav former coworkers, who always reminded me of Sam Elliot, first mentioned that phrase to me. Love both those guys.

Sun, you can skinny-dip...we'll do it in the dark. As for your walnuts, I will send them when you're in U.K. They should be there when you return. You will have to open them with a vise or hammer...they're not like regular walnuts. They are a bit of an acquired taste!

Rubes, I blinded a few turkey vultures, but nobody else! Trust me, I'm trying to keep my kinfolk OUT of the cabin. I can imagine how much damage one skwerl could wreak in merely twenty-four hours! As I said, I'm going again on Wednesday, in order to lock the little critter out...and meet an electrician early the next day.

My daughter, who has always had long, naturally curly blonde hair,
was a country kid but excelled so in the big highschool even popular, rich kids had to accept her. Thank goodness she is a little tuffie. One particularly snide, nasty rich boy delighted in telling her blonde jokes, so one day, after he told one, she laughed and said 'Oh that's a good one! Why don't you tell it in the AC (accelerated) class? Oh, that's right! You're not IN AC, are you?'. I was SO proud of my little smartass Barbie.

Sunni, I had suspected a big trip, though you've been very quiet about it. What A thrill for your mum! When again is her BD? Please give her hugs and kisses from me, with my very best birthday greetings. I'm so excited for your whole clan. Be SURE you take lots of pics. Maybe even call in a professional photographer. If it's been 35 years, this opportunity isn't likely to be repeated soon.

I have so much to do, and Hubs needs to go to his employee's wife's funeral. He never wants to do those things without me. Oh, and Sun, why aren't you sending the fabric?

Hey all-- I am at least laying in bed and plan to until as late as I can tomorrow. Hubs is taking son to school -- I am holding him to it since he is STILL out with his hockey pals. They won--yea (note the sarcasm). Now he is in the playoffs so...more hockey.

Sun--I would never get on the bouncey but my son sure loved it-- though he said some of the boys were getting "violent" while jumping.

Okay--I am downright starving--Rubes--I wish you'd come cook for me! Goodnight all!

I used to get sick about this time of year and stay sick till May, but a few years ago I got a pneumonia shot and I haven't been deathly sick since, cross my fingers. And believe me I was SICK! Coughed so hard I cracked ribs, ran fever up to 105, could not get a breath without terrible pain. NEVER want to be that sick again. And ifyou don't take care you can get worse, or it can drag out. REST! TAKE CARE of yourself. There is no valor in doing things that will prolong, maybe exacerbate your illness. Don't be a martyr!
Rog, I LOVE hearing how busy you are. I don't know anyone who enjoys a new challenge more than you. Good things DO come to good people.
Fen, as long as everyone has a separate seat cover and no cameras are allowed I'm in for the Tick Hollow 'Naturalist' community. Actually there is a large nudist colony a few miles from the cabin. OH! What a hoot it would have been if I'd thought about driving Vick and Grate down that dirt drive and putting them out. Grate would have had a stroke on the spot, and Vick would have been squinting and trying to figure out what all the jiggling was about, since she lost her glasses.

Oh, Rubes...only you could make me laugh at 6am! You are so right....I would have hidden behind a tree in case they made me take my clothes off!! I miss you and your calming ways...I can't wait until our commune gets finished. Of course, we'll have to have 2 sections....one side for us "slower, laid back people" and one for the "on-the-go-hurry up before we miss something" people (sweet Vick). BTW-did you get the photos of Addy on your phone in the robe you sent home for her? She looked so cute in it!! I sent it to my daughter and of course my son-in-law said "what in the world is she wearing?" and Becky said "Lord only knows"......kids these days! But Addy just loves it!!
