New drywall up in the basement stairwell, hallway and bedroom at Tick Hollow! My guy has to put a couple more coats of mud on the seams, sand, and then I can finally paint the bedroom and bathroom...I'm going to do some cool tree stencils in the bedroom in various shades of green.

The coyotes were out in force two nights in a row....I ran down to lock the cow gate last night and startled four deer...the place is truly awesome!

Ex B is (pardon my french) Ex-Bitch. Had a long chat minutes ago with Son's GF. Son was near tears today, over the mess he's allowed in his family, but GF was up on most of the carnage Ex-B has caused. We all agree the girls need counselling, and they will get it. Part of the problem is Tay and Mad are teenagers (clinically insane) and, again, she's their mother. She had a life handed to her on a plate, but she would go down the drive where a man was waiting, and be gone for days, with the girls asking 'Where's Momma'. When they get older, mature, they will still love her, but understand more about what their Daddy put up with, trying to take care of them. I don't know what the future holds for any of them, but Son's GF is willing to do anything to help them. She's been so supportive of him, and it embarrasses me and Hubs, so can't imagine what he has gone through. I figured after he cut her off, she'd self-destruct. And end up arrested, especially if he takes the girls back and loses that income. No court would deny him that right, but she will have a small, minimum wage income. She tells the girls awful things about us all, but has painted herself into a corner. He's been dating his GF for almost a year, and she just worships him. I've warned her he has warts too, as all of us do, but he has a great job, his house is spotless, adores his babies, and Ex knows if she takes on one of us, she takes on all of us. Yes, MB, she's NOT coming in to face me!! :H Such a sad situation, when so many would love to have a husband like him. Again, I know more than most his faults, but they are miniscule compared to what she's done. She had cars, a 4 BR, 3 bath house, with 2 kitchens, but when I got a call from neighbor that she had had 2 men swimming naked with her in the pool, while the girls were in the house, it cinched it for me. Very sick and sad.

Fen, hope I get to see Tick Hollow one day. And you see Sweetwater Cabin. You'll be craving living there soon!!

Oh Ruby - how awful for you. I cannot imagine what it is like! Fen - I won't say what an ex-B is. It is Ruby's sons ex wife. Jan - I cannot imagine flying with an ear infection - my ear going down in a small plane was really bad landing in Atlanta and I didn't have an ear infection - oh, I feel for you. The big plane was fine - but the small planes seem not to have the same pressure stuff - so I hope you are okay. It felt as if my ear drum was going to explode! fen - glad that you are so enjoying Tick Hollow. It does sound awesome !! Back outside to my garden.

MB, go to the drugstore you might know the druggest and explain your situation. If he doesn't help you out with OTC meds, then look up what you're facing online, and you may find help. At the least, chew gum when you fly, and it will help equalize the pressure in your head, OK? Helps me, since I have ongoing sinus and ear problems. The gum can't hurt!

Hubs and son are sitting together eating ham and bean soup and cornbread. Went in and chewed them both out a few minutes ago, about the 'hateful' attitudes. Warned them they'd be living together, without me, if they didn't straighten their butts up, and have to complain to but each other!! AND have no one but MIL to feed them. Suits me. Tay amd KC want tp go to cabin tomorrow. Sounds good to me. They actually wanted to go Fri, but I have SO much going on. But an escape can't hurt, huh? Wish ya'll were close enough to escape when you want, friends.
Fen, TMB caught your cousin by it's dang tail today, but not enough concern to chase it. So if you see a relative with a bald tail, tell it to consider itself lucky!!

Hi all,
Spent the day cooking and cleaning. I made chocolate covered toffee with Halloween sprinkles for dessert. For dinner I made homemade beef with broccoli (Chinese style) with brown rice. Before that I washed, by hand, the front of my house on my wrap around porch. I want it to look nice for Halloween. Yesterday I made hearty homemade chicken noodle soup with chocolate crinkle cookies for dessert. Hubs says now that I am getting my groove back he may be putting on some serious weight, lol. I hope not, he is short and won't carry it well. Feeling pretty good. Still having thoughts of drinking though, I just quick change my thinking before it takes hold. I do love the self pride I am feeling with these mini accomplishments though. Jan, I sure hope you can get something for your ears before you leave because that can't end well without something for the pressure. I loved the Halloween dog pics. I have work tomorrow. It seems that just when I get a rhythm going it is time for a workday. Oh! I almost forgot ......my oldest daughter has an interview for a Medical school on Tuesday!!! We are all so excited! We pray she gets accepted. My little one is off to NYC again next weekend to visit friends at college for the Halloween weekend. I am crafting a paper m?ch? pumpkin head with teeth and eyes, different! Well it is more like paper m?ch? sculpting really. I have some ideas too on how to complete my doll. I must have one of my girls show me how to post pics. Well aren't I just a chatter box tonight. Lol I hope all had a great day too.:hGina
