I am off now until Thursday! Yay! I am going to clean, cook,create and read. A snow storm is coming but I will be toasty warm with my wood and pellet stoves. I can not believe that NY is getting a possible 12 inches in October! My little one will most likely get stranded in the big city with her girlfriends at college but I am sure she will not mind. I plan to thoroughly enjoy my time off. I will check in again tomorrow. Love:l:hGina

Hallo everyone - I am home. Nora - I was NOT late for work. LOL I had a doctor appt and wasn't late for that either. But wasn't ready to leave and needed to sort stuff out - was going straight to work from Dr appt. I am never late for work - oh, I lie - I was ONCE. I had a car accident on the way!!! You crack me up - LOL How is the puppy doing? Oh - got blood work results and all is good - my cholesterol was high but my good stuff was so high that it made my total cholesterol high, but as my good stuff was off the charts he isn't worried. My liver all came back good too. I don't drink a lot but I do still drink - a little. Ruby - you need to rest. I am going to make you a CD !!!!! Georgie, I am pleased you are feeling good. The folk where I work love it when i take cookies in as well - which works well, as I like making them but we don't eat them all. Jan - good on the interview - I shall wait with baited breath to see how it went. Hi Coconut!! Lovely to see you here even if you are lost - LOL Hi Fen! Hope all is well at the cabin? Rog - how are things going? waiting for a reply to my PM.......

Wow...a lot has been happening here in my absence! I'm sorry I haven't checked in...been super busy at work and home, as usual. I hope all who are sick will be better soon. Jan-I hope your interview went well and if it is a job that you think you would like, then I pray you will get it. I just hope you won't have to work as much as you do now! Sunny...you are always working too! Don't you find it hard just to keep up with everyday stuff? I have so many lists! Ruby....I feel so bad for your son and especially for your granddaughters...what an awful mess and those poor girls are right in the middle. Thank goodness they have you...and I'm so glad that Tay has JC. He certainly is doing a lot of work for you and it seems like he really enjoys it. That is a good sign! What kind of school is Tay looking into?
Your new pup is a cutie...but not as cute as Tink! I still want a clone of Tink...but I know I have to wait. Did you make your ham & bean soup recipe that you posted here? Everyone loved it when I made it and my son-in-law liked it so much he had Beck get the recipe from me so he could have it again. I have certainly missed talking with you.....I keep threatening that I am moving down there. Oh-that reminds me...I had a FEMA rep here last night to see if I can get assistance with our basement damage...he is from Cleveland, Georgia and has a log cabin in the mountains that he & his son built! I was telling him about my trip to see you. This poor man has been in my area since August because of the Hurricane we had.

I'm still doing double duty at work and my sweet, but ever forgetful boss is really driving me nuts. He's really not mentally able to make proper business decisions..but he does anyway and it's starting to affect our company....his son has tried so many times to get him to talk everything over with him first, but he just won't. We both are at the end of our rope. It really is draining me...

I'm waiting for my son to come home from a football game and then he & some friends are going to have a bonfire in back of our house....I hope & pray nobody brings over any alcohol....my hubby will have to check on them when he gets home from work.

I am SO NOT looking forward to the snow tomorrow. We might get 4-8"....I want to move south!!
I am not a cold weather person.

Uh oh...my protector is barking his head off....I better go see what's going on outside.

Grateful - 4-8" of snow???????? OMG !!!!! I read that twice to make sure I read it right. I know that we are into the end of October but still - SNOW already? Oh my gosh! I am not ready for that yet at all. It was really good to hear from you. So sorry things are so hectic for you - I know how things are for you with your boss. Just hang in there my friend and do the best that you can. You can't do any more than that. Try to take things easy please? Call me if you need to.

WOW!! I've been watching the weather and this may be the biggest snowfall in October in recorded weather history! Luckily, we got a smattering of rain, and it's gonna be sunny and high 60's for the next week. May get to freezing a couple of nights, but i'll just pull up another dog! :H
Grate, so good to see you girl. I know you worry about your job, but really, it's out of your control. Boss's poor son is the one who ultimately must deal with this. I would suggest you stay out of their power struggle, and just do your part and lend your support. You really can't affect this outcome without becoming involved in their personal stuggle. Yes, Georgia gets just enough snow to make it a holiday event, so I love it here. Tay and JC are continuing to empty out the house, so I have TONS more of stuff to sort and wash, and tonight is the big community Halloween party.
MB, you too go above and beyond, and the pride in your work does not go unnoticed. Like I told ya'll recently, Hubs was getting really down about the load he carries at work when they gave him the surprise bonus, and that lift carried him a long time. Had all the girls here yesterday, and son is working on a plan to get them home full-time soon. I have to be SOOOOOooo careful not to sound critical of their mom when they're here, as they are super-sensitive now, and she has ranted to them for so long about how terrible their Daddy is, they're a bit brainwashed. They think I can change the world just by asking me to, and I have to be gentle when I try to explain things to them.
Here's a pic of Tay and her baby she's nursing along. One little one died, but after 10 days, this one has gotten to the point of trying to climb out of the insulated bag she keeps it in.

I will be giving all of you that recipe, although I must confess, we call it a family recipe only because it the only recipe we have found in our family that we can actually make with success! ( we are not the best bakers) Lol. But I will share it ONLY because you all live so far away, as we make these delicious cookies for every event and if everyone knew about how easy they are, we would have to find a new recipe. Lol. Good Morning Ruby, Rog, Georgie - good to see you are all doing well this morning. The pics of that kitten are so sweet Ruby. Not that I am a baseball fan, but one cannot help catch the feelings coming from everyone around you - the cardinals won last night - the World Series and everyone is SO happy!!! I am happy for them. Work would have been a sad place tonight had they lost :H I close tonight so won't be around. Extra hour in bed tonight - I think - don't we put the clocks back?

Should I call you Tony or Benny?? :H Loved that guy!!!! Tell your kids to PLEASE be safe on the roads. This weather is too much. I was wondering about you, and Grateful. G said she was expecting to be snowed in, but this is October! Of course, we had a small snowfall in Georgia once in October, and I can remember sitting and watching it snow on Thanksgiving.
Everything seems to speed up after Halloween. Christmas decorations are already out in many stores (UGG!) and they'll be immediately replaced with Valentine decor. Have my 2 houses listed at very reasonable prices for the digs. When they're done, I can rest a while. Tay and JC went down and checked on the one just vacated, it doesn't need much work. And they've gone now to work on finishing emptying the other house and sheds. Hubs fusses when he finally gets home, but he hasn't had to cut a blade of grass or move furniture since they started helping me. Tomorrow afternoon we're up to a nefarious mission. I'm claiming an antique family table from the family cabin (it's sitting in water where the roof is leaking), and it will start another war. Nothing to lose, though, so what the heck.
