    Motivational story

I've spent a lot of time feeling sorry for myself. And then I saw this story about a 29-y-o young lady born deaf, and a video of her hearing her own voice for the first time thanks to an inner-ear implant:

Crimsons - I watch a lot of tv about people with health issues - addiction, illness, etc. to try to remind myself of how lucky I am. I don't mean to say I don't feel empathy when I see them - I absolutely do. I cry and suffer with them. But also, it makes me say to myself: "you could really have problems" and helps me stay on track with sobriety. It reminds me that........Here are all these people who would give anything to be healthy. And here we are, the lucky healthy ones, voluntarily screwing up our bodies with alcohol! It's a good reality check and one that should make us stay on the path of sobriety.

OMG, the video was so moving - the things we take for granted. Makes me want to kick myself for being a small person when I see things like this. Thanks for posting this Crimsons.
