Speaking of showers (well we weren't - but we are now) we went to the hotel last night that we had the disaster in 'bout a month ago, and they upgraded us to a mindblowing suite sort of thing, and it had a jacuzzi bath ---- oh Jesus, I could live in that bath - it was FANTABULOUS --- only problem was, I thought it lacked some bubbles, so I threw in the shower gel - then the shampoo -- then cause I thought there weren't enuff bubbles, I threw in another shampoo FFS --- I'd say the bubbles are up to the ceiling now, pulled the plug out, turned off the jacuzzi, checked out - and ran

May be a long shot but does anyone on here have any experience of GBS (Guillane Barre Syndrone) either had it themselves or know someone who has?

Looking specifically at the long term residuals, after another meeting at the school about my 6 yr old who cannot keep any part of her still, who has problems writing and concentrating in general and who behaves like a mad thing for most of the day (she had it 4 years ago)
I have a drink problem, I have been AF since 15 March 2011 and I am working hard to stay that way

They don't call me Pingu Purple Pants for nothing....

Blimey molly - sounds like you've got your hands full at the moment. Glad you had a nice weekend though.

Pingu - I've no experience whatsoever of GBS, but there seem to be a lot of support forums out there - just google Guillain Barre Syndrome forum. Apologies if that's stating the blooming obvious.

yeah I've been on the website and facebook page and spoken to adults who have had it but I can't find much about residuals in kids. I've decided to book an appt to see my GP in the hope she can get us back in touch with the team in Oxford who do seem to have the best knowledge about it in this area.....

It was a horrible thing to watch though, a child of 20 months suddenly unable to stand or sit up and getting progressively worse by the day (until at day 5 they finally sent her to the Radcliffe and diagnosed and treated her)

this is 4 years on, we went through all the trauma of the illness the horrible recovery years ago

now just left with a child who is constantly in trouble for not sitting still, poor concentration, poor motor skills and a vile temper, and the teacher asked me today to find out whether it's possible that they are somehow connected. I suspect the motor skills are but I am not sure about the rest....
