    HOW LONG'S IT BEEN!?!?

I've been coming for a little longer that 2 years. (I think). I've had some good periods with success and some bad periods. I've taken breaks as well. Although I'm not where I really want to be at the moment, I find a lot of support, encouragement and good info on this site. It's also a non judgmental place to vent.

Comming on 92 days sober and I believe I started comming to this site right when I stopped drinking after a HORRIBLE hangover. I thank that hangover now, but then...Oh man!

            HOW LONG'S IT BEEN!?!?

I have been here since 2009 and been sober since May 21, 2011 after previous quit attempts and a period of modding.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

              HOW LONG'S IT BEEN!?!?

I found this amazing site August 23, 2010 and from that day forward I have been sober. I wasn't even looking for that to be the answer when I found this place... but I kept reading and posting, got some amazing advice. Life saving advice. For so long I worried I was an alcoholic but drank as much or less then people I hung out with. I'd even talked to a doctor about my problem and was advised to moderate. While that might have worked I think it's too painful of a process for me. It was such a relief to hear people to tell me just to stop. Mostly, what I love about this place is the topic of alcohol is discussed and not just brushed under the rug. People struggle here and admit it. It takes such courage to look at these issues.

I came here in October 2010 when I was hungover for the millionth time. Drank for over 30 years progresively. It has been one year sober for me and I give credit to MWO for helping with that. I still visit often and am grateful for the inspiration from so many people here. I've never felt better physically and mentally. I still have same old problems not alcohol related, but it's easier to deal with them sober. I truly hope everyone can find their way out of the madness of this disease. As always it's ODAT for me....Peace Out all..
                AF since 10/14/2010...

                  HOW LONG'S IT BEEN!?!?

I joined in april 2010 and have been sober since march 17 of this year. I orginally joined because i was starting naltrexone and mainly posted on the meds thread. NAL did not work for me. After amost 10 years of wasting my life daily drinking, i was finally able to quit March 17th. Best thing i ever did. This site was a huge part, but ultimately i had to WANT it and do the work for myself. There is no quick or easy way to do this but it obviously can be done. There are so many ways from meds, AA, counseling, groups such as Smart Recovery, which i also did. Everyone is different. Use whatever you can and everything it takes....it is worth it!
AL free since March 17th 2011...loving this life. No drinking no matter what.

Hi my name is Lori and i am so happy to be here.
