7 course tasting menu - what to drink?

My husband and I are going away on Friday for our 5th Wedding Anniversary on Friday to a Michelin starred restaurant and we have ordered the 7 course tasting menu, we were originally having the wine package to go with it but have now cancelled it and I am wondering what would be nice to go with it all, I know some restaurants offer a non-alcoholic package but this restaurant apparently doesn't?

Ask for water - tap water. That should piss them off.

Not that i drink it but some people go alcohol free wine or beer or i am sure there are lots of alcohol free cocktails and other drinks available, maybe some one else will have some ideas.

          Hey Mauri
Congratulations on your 5th Wedding Anniversary, have a truly brilliant time. Enjoy and savour not only the food, but each other's company. I'm with Anon, or you could order just sparkling Mineral Water in a fancy glass. Or a non alcoholic cocktail called a "Mocktail" most places serve them these days. Take care, be kind to yourself and Love and Sunshine Kaza xx

            Thanks everyone

Happy I hate tap water but yes that would probably annoy them :H

Pelligrino is lovely with lemon so might have some of that and might enquire on the non-al cocktails for pre/post dinner too I am steering clear of any imitation alcohol, when I was veggie I hated 'pretend' meat LOL

I am so looking forward to actually enjoying my husband's company in a beautiful place and waking up to a non-hungover breakfast after a relaxing proper night's sleep!!

Why not ask what they suggest to best enhance their meal?

I had thought that but am guessing they will just suggest the wine package!

Well, I meant something AF. It shocked the hell out of me to discover that other people don't drink for whatever reason, so I'm sure that question comes up for them. Sparkling water is what I'd go with but that's just lack of experience and imagination on my part, :H

Yes, sorry I know that's what you meant, I have no imagination with anything non-al either, guess we will have to make more of an effort :H

I think I am going to wait until I see the menu and know what we will be having then try to pair drinks with it myself

This post was from Determinator to Satori who used to be a member here a few years ago.
The drink "SATORI" had a bit of fame throughpout the MWO world... we MWOers were ordering it all round the world. It was fun to have the waiter have to ask what a Satori was. It sounds so exotic

Just tried a new drink that I'm enjoying quite a bit. pineapple/coconut juice thinned down
with some seltzer water so it's not so syrupy. very nice. sort of a pina colada flavour but higher quality than the crap you'd get as a mix in a bar since I'm buying all natural juice.
BTW I've named soda with lime a "Satori" just to mess with bartenders. you say: I'll have a Satori please.
                      a what?
it's soda water with lime....don't you keep up on this stuff?

You are, of course, going to post pics and a description of each course aren't you?
That's a bit of a tradition on the Undies thread .... we enjoy food porn over there.

I usually do take pics if I am having a 'posh' meal so yes I will try my best to post for you I am so excited about it, I have never eaten at a Michelin Starred restaurant before, it has only just been awarded one, it was 3 AA rosettes when we booked so we are really happy!
