    MWO people are the best

I wanted to express my appreciation to everyone on this website. People here are so helpful and care about their fellow human beings. Many of you really try to lift many of us who are struggling and I for one really love you all. You are so welcoming, especially to new people.

Yesterday, I got on a Yahoo Groups discussion board whose purpose is to discuss Easy Way by Allen Carr. I was very interested in the topic since I just picked up the book again to read over. The format is quite different than MWO. Everyone in the group (over 250 people) gets an e-mail of every single post. It took about 2 weeks for me to be approved to even join. I finally got my approval notice and sent an e-mail out introducing myself and asked some questions about the book. I got one very short, although helpful answer from one person. I thanked him and wrote a follow up post. I also got a post from one person telling me I wasn't posting correctly (with no advice on how the site actually works). Not one other person responded to me, they seemed to be involved in responding to the people they knew already. I felt like I was a party crasher.

It made me really grateful for you folks. Everyone seems genuine and I never feel judged, stupid or invalid like I did with the Yahoo Group. A big hug and many thanks :thanks:

    Looking for Peace,
I felt the same way when I found my way here in early August. I hadn't really participated much in an online forum since way, way back in the early '90s. But after lurking for a few days and seeing how new folks were welcomed here, i plunged in and have never regretted it. I don't think I've ever seen anyone get nasty or even snide or sarcastic with another poster. I also know that I would never have maintained my sobriety without this site and the folks on it. So, I'll join you in your thanks to all here!

Yeah we learn from everyone here. You all are a help to me.
I quit drinking on March 8, 2020. Taking it One Day At A Time and no more taking my quit for granted.

Also doing it for me. I got to stay sober for me.

Just consecrate on today and do what you can to remain sober for today and worry about staying sober tomorrow, tomorrow.

No party crashers here unless you are abusive, Which you aren't.

We welcome most. I can't say all because sometimes trolls come to visit and we have to take them down.

A troll is someone who is trying very hard to cause dissension and distrust.

Otherwise, you are more than welcome and I want to say, :welcome:

More importantly, I want you to figure Your Way Out. There is one, you know.

                  Hi LFP,
Gee, if a person was a bit apprehensive (and what newbie isn't) that would be right off putting. Also a bit rude.
                  So glad I found MWO.

                    Hi LFP,
As a newbie myself, I feel somewhat overwhelmed by the good folk on this site - and most welcomed. Thanks from me too
