My brother is a teacher expatty, and he works in a school where there are 15 members of staff and only 12 pupils, so he's expecting the school to be closed down soon. He thinks it will be impossible to get another job as a "normal" teacher, so he's planning to TEFL like you. He says it would mean taking a 70 to 75% pay cut, so I can understand why you might be struggling financially. It's great that you got a pay rise though.

I used to be a "normal" teacher Reccie. I worked in a small bilingual school in Paris. But now that I have children, the flexible hours of TEFL teaching suits my life much better. I have to take my son to therapy three times a week and there is no way I could work "regular" hours right now.

Huge storm this morning Expatty but gorgeous and warm now! Went for a lovely walk by the river and thru the Uni while littlest locust was at rowing...very nice day all in all...hope Pugdog is going strong?

Pug dog is doing great! He just still has some bald patches where the vet had to shave the hair off. But he does not look like leper dog anymore!:H
Speaking of puggy-he needs a walk! And my son is now awake and hungry.

Hi Recluse. My running and recovery started with walking and it is so uplifting just that feeling of fitness one gets from walking at a decent pace.

Good luck on the therapy venture Starty. i have been down that road and the hardest part was charging the clients:upset:

In Queensland - coz we're special just after 4 Saturday arvo. The rest of Eastern Australia are just after 5. We like it...THEY think we're odd. Go figure??
