Week Two - What's your New Habit This Week?

52 Weeks of Healthy Habits: 52 Weeks of Healthy Habits

On to Week 2 - Check out the blog I've managed to keep up with since alcohol has lost it's grip on my life.

We're making one healthy change at a time.

    Tips
    Tipplerette

I do this for my children, my grandchildren, my health, my peace of mind, and mostly for the opportunity to learn to live with my true, unfiltered, clear-headed, vulnerable self.

Week Two - What's your New Habit This Week?

    That's great Tips,

My healthy habit starting today is drinking a cleansing mix of organic cranberry juice, lemon juice, dandelion root tea and water. I will drink that in addition to my water. Tomorrow I start my exercise routine again.

Last night I started meditating again, it feels good to take charge of my health.

    Peace

I'm going to a meditation class this Weds. Never done anything like it before. A little scared but I hope it will help me relax and find some calm from somewhere in the middle of a turbulent world
I have a drink problem, I have been AF since 15 March 2011 and I am working hard to stay that way

They don't call me Pingu Purple Pants for nothing....

Pingu, I am ending an 8 week meditation class tomorrow. It's a hospital based stress reduction mindfulness meditation class. It's based on a class that Jon Kabatt Zinn started in Massachsettes in the nineties. It has been very good, however, I have not been consistent and that is the key. So, my habit change for this week to mediate for at least 10 minutes everyday, not skipping days. What's your meditation class like?

I have no idea, never been before to anything like that. It's just somewhere local that I can get to on a day that suits. It might be rubbish, I have no idea. But if it gives me strategies for relaxation and calming down then it will be worth it!

Week Two - What's your New Habit This Week?

            New habits

Just started calcium, B complex and milk thistle.
After 12 days AF I can see a big difference in my
            appearance. My eyes are bright.
Now I want to take care of the inside as well.

Week Two - What's your New Habit This Week?

New Habits - Great job on the supps. I have been taking Vit D (as we aren't getting enough from the sun this time of year up here in Canada), B complex, and Milk Thistle.
              Also Omega 3's.

For this week...Now that I am not putting poison down my throat I am really trying to put lots of fruit and veggies, brown rice and ease up on the gluten and sugar.

Next Week...I may try starting a 30 day cleanse (nothing too too strict but will not include sugar or gluten + cleansing supps for the liver, kidneys, etc....). So if I can cut back on the sugar and gluten a little more this week it won't seem so horrible next week when I can't have any.
