hmm, thanks tawns. mine was an heirloom variety, red fig or something, quite an advanced seedling but a bit root-bound. maybe i was a bit rough with 'im sticking him in.... so i've taken him out & he's looking even sadder.
but my royal blue tub is taking orf!

I am bursting with pride this morning. We have been doing some work supporting women trainees/apprentices in an industry that is 99.9% male. I was up at their annual competition earlier this week, and the awards dinner was last night. Logged into Facebook this morning and discovered that the top award for apprentice of the year was a woman!! Not one of the ones that we have been supporting, but I reckon the work that we are doing is challenging the culture of the industry in a positive way.

Awwwwww that is so nice!! I'm sure it is an old wives tale, but in the (irish catholic) community that I grew up in, getting big fast was always a good sign

I'm supposed to be up and about by now, but I'm going back to bed for a wee while to cuddle up with our foster cat. We have to deliver her back to the SPCA this morning ......... most of the time its not a problem to take them back, but this one I have gotten very attached to. She follows me around all the time, and has been a lovely companion. We talked about whether we might adopt her (and she and Betty actually get on quite well!!), but three cats is just a bit much in our house. One day we will have more room for cats and chooks However, I'm sure she will be adopted very quickly and I've written her a great reference.

and we are off for the weekend at lunchtime - Steely Dan concert tomorrow night. And Stevie Winwood. Actually I bought the tickets because of Stevie Winwood, but apparently he is of the boil a bit at the moment.

So it is official. They won't be slicing the housemate up like a piece of Sashimi for a problem that can be treated medically Dog deliver us from this medical system.

Further to above rant, my poor interstate mate seems to be manifesting some incredibly bizarre mental health issues once drinking ceased. These have either been covered up by, or caused by many years of imbibement. As I have known her for alomost 30 years, there is no denying that it is the latter. We've had a host of very odd delusional conversations indeed over the last few months.
Needless to say, I post this as a warning to all of us. Put this together with the fact that the housemate's disorder is caused by alcohol excess....well I think I'm just sick to death of alcohol and all of it's bloody filthy implications......sick of it.....

Rant officially over, and I might actually see what's going on with other Undies up there.
