I have wondered over the years about the guilt associated with a cleaner. I am of the type that feels guilty about a lot in life so I know I would struggle. I seriously considered getting one last Friday but I have decided to put that money towards a babysitter instead. Time for me to start going out and having fun instead of sitting at home drinking.

We are determined to bring the kids to NZ in the next few years. I met my husband while backpacking in NZ so it will always holds a special place in my heart.

Techie - I'm sure in that garb my dogs would not harass you. I'd pay you $50/hour (not really sure what you do though).

Miss - My mum used to be a cleaner at one stage in her life and was horrified that people couldn't clean up after themselves. Though I must say the ones I've hired were pretty lax; I could do better myself!

Ellaq - hope you have a great time with your homecoming hubby. NZ is beautiful. Would go back there in an instant. Is he a Kiwi? Mine is, so get to regurgitate the ole sheep shagger jokes ad nauseum.

Lots of catching up to do.... no radio, no internet, no TV on Uepi.

Rags is back and I think I am finally over my tonsillitis and my big girl (mine, as in she's not really mine, but her mum generously shared her with me for a couple of years) who has been travelling the world for the last two years is now in Brissie and home here on Saturday.

All is coming right with the world :H

UNDIES SUBTHREAD: Two teddies travel to Uepi.

When the Teddies heard Raggsy was going to UEPI for a weeks’ scuba diving, there was no argument… Penguin was immediately voted to go. As the teddies travel in pairs, he chose Panda to come with him, as he is black and white too….

Knowing the travel routine, they played their favourite travel game… “Squish”, which involves being very quiet and stil in the side pocket of the backpack while Raggsy goes through check in and they go through the xray machine at the airport…



After a dark ride up in the luggage compartment, they arrived at……..





Lugging the baggage and Teddies over to domestic flights, there was no one there to check us in…. and no officious security men or x ray machines.



After reading the safety and warning sign we were on the tarmac and rearing to get to Seghe

And here we are at the airport....



A short walk away (30 metres) were the boats ready to take us to Uepi




And our first sight of our accommodation.....



Raggsy kept us in the backpack till we got to the pathway to our burre





As Raggsy stepped inside, Penguin and I took a piccy of the view from the front door.





And Raggsy took a piccy of the inside...

Dinner is served in a big room, and the staff are encouraged to both write out the menu and tell us what is on the menu as a way of overcoming shynes and helping with communication skills. Food was pretty much the same the whole week as you’ll see from the menus………














From the first dinner, Penguin became restless......................................



Complete with tropical orchid...




By the end of the second dinner Penguin was ecstatic! Seafood fit for a Penguin!

I don't have a little green monster - he is huge Ragsy!! What a paradise! Much salivating over the food too.

Next morning we checked out the place while the Teddies took time out from eating and sleeping….
