if i email you pics of Rosie's potential one-night-stands, we'd better put them up here for everyone's approval, if that's ok?

HIya kids, feeling heaps better after some cookie dough ice cream. Hubs has been doing all the work today in the kitchen. Juice. Home made hummus, left over mexican polenta. Yumo. All this talk of food on this thread makes me happy.
MB, what a beautiful story. What a lovely weekend it sounds like. I love EVERYTHING Christmas. Just watched Love Actually today for the 15th time.

Squeeeeeeal.....Goldies
My favourite thing.....
The ones up the top look more like the American lines to me Beags with the longer, thinner faces.
As far as heads, I don't know about standards or anything, but I love the Goldies with the higher crown like my girl........but Jeez I throb them ALL.....that's some good looking Golden up there......
If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

aw bridge your one is lovely!!!
i like a good domey head, with a straight nose, lots of nostril area, nice leg bone.......& gotta have a good deep colour. nowadays, the goldies here in WA have a high albino factor, which is so wrong...so thus must breed to black skinnned dogs.
which these guys are. otherwise, nearest decent dog is 5 hrs drive away. sheesh.
i just love that breed now. having been a hard arsed vet for 20 yrs, i love the goldens the most. they surpass all expectations of "companion animal". :h thank goodness for them.

see the slight "pinking" of the nose in all?
that is the albino factor which is undesirable. I'm hoping the black base underlying skin will counteract that.
many of you will ask.... why not ask a breeder?
cos they're arseholes who demand too much for decent dogs & are too snobbish to consider breeding with "outside" bitches.... dickheads. oh, did i mention, i dislike breeders? if anyone if a breeder on here, i apologise but i would like to have a long hard chat with you.....

That's the other thing too....are you hoping for mid gold colours?
Because I've noticed that the current trend is for light cream litters....as a matter of fact I couldn't find any mid gold litters and even less dark/coppery ones...only one breeder on the North coast of NSW for coppers as far as I could see.
I mean at the end of the day they are just the most superb dog and who gives a crap about anything but temperament, but it would be kind of nice to put a darker boy across her, hey?If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

Do you think noses lose pigment over time anyway?.....just a little sub theory of mine.
My girl has a black nose still, but a little paler now. I was just glad that it was black for the sun cancer aspect ......If your 8 year old self met you, would they be proud?

you're on my page bridgee that's for sure. i DO want a darker gold, but they are like hen's teeth. 1 that has cropped up is in Southern Cross, about 5 hrs drive from here, & she (the owner) hasn't contacted me at all.
i would love to go for darker goldens, & will ring a breeder i know of that does darker dogs for agility, & i might be able to wheezle my way into her good books......but i am completely with you. i like a GOLDEN retriever, not a cream one!!! having said that, yes they are the most fantastic dogs regardless of colour, BUT a darker dog leans towards less skin issues.
