    Undies in November

Miss Behaving;1213010 wrote: Change is in the wind undergarments! Nothing is certain yet until Mr B's court case has been heard in December, but we are looking at moving house. On the essentials list so far is:
    • easy access to the school that Mr B's boy is likely to be at next year
easy accesss to public transport and a flat cycle ride to the train!!
close to a beach so I can swim more regularly
on town water supply (this is my requirement after Mr B started throwing all sorts of places into the mix that are still on bore water)
nothing that needs more than cosmetic touching up unless Mr B agrees to take responsibility for doing it (I am working FT, he works when he gets it)
      A back yard!!!!!!
      Room for chooks
      Room for a vegie garden
Room for Betty and Wookie to play in
A shed for Mr B to potter away in

The area that we are looking at is sunny and warm and very reasonably priced. At the moment we are feeling quite excited about prospects for the future, but we are not going to make any decisions before Xmas!
Sounds like perfect bliss to me Missy......Is there a granny/bridgey flat?

if you can come and coach me in all the things a city girl doesn't know about!!

Mr B grew up on a chook farm, and I grew up with market gardening. But we are both pretty rusty. Anyway, there are a few more rivers to flow under the bridge (metaphorically speaking :H) before we make any decisions.

I reckon Sunny will be using Reg's earplugs before we make up our minds!!

Ok....even I admit that 5:30 is a bit ridiculous. The Jones of old would have scoffed at this....
You all carry on sleeping, I'll open the blinds, feed the animals, put the kettle on for any other early risers......

Quick bit of gratitude to you, Frogster. For his birthday, my nephew got 18 helium balloons, with a request that he huff a couple for me, since I taught him how when he was a tot; AND, thanks to your link, a singing gorilla. All at his new place of business, which made for a great day for "his little home-sickness" and his workmates. (Actually, he's 30, almost 6 ft., and about 220 solid lbs., - not so little!)

He's working at a place owned by a family he worked for here in the U.S., invited down to help them with their new business, so there wasn't much that we could have done that would have been over-the-top.

Now he wants a pair of cowboy boots for Xmas, which are ubiquitous where we live but he never wanted a pair. Is it an Aussie thing?

I teach all of my small friends how to huff balloons, cross their eyes and make swears. We should start a day care centre together.

So glad this went well RedThread!! Was he totally amazed that you had managed to organise it from the US????

Happy - was Locust making recompense?? :H Lovely of him to make you brekkie anyway!

Ella - how are you doing? Feel free to vent when you need to .... although I imagine you have heaps going on at the moment.

I tell you what - it was so nice seeing photos of Happy and Sunny (and Raggsy, but I already knew what she looked like!!). It means that when I read your posts I have an image of a real person in my head instead of an avatar!!

We were very excited about a prospective move yesterday (and there was one place that I was just about all ready to ring up and put in an offer on!!), but today we have our feet on the ground about timing and sequencing!! We need to be sensible and do things in the right order - starting with getting the Court case over with in December. While Mr B's boy has been enrolled in a particular (private) high school, there still have not been concrete guarantees that the school fees can be paid. Mr B has had an independent (IRD) assessment of his ability to contribute financially and is paying about twice that, but there is a substantial gap between what he pays already and 50% of the costs of boy's schooling at this particular school. Meanwhile, we have one of the best state schools in the country about 15 minutes walk away

But one of the things we talked about yesterday was that it might be nice to shift anyway. The houses are so much cheaper in the area that we are looking at, it has a much better climate, and the life style would be much nicer. And I have been thinking that I could work 4x10 hours days to cut back on commuting (it is about an hour's train ride away from work) .... and work at home one day a week so it would cut things back to only three days a week commuting.

I have been trying since the beginning of November to migrate from the stationary bike in the gym to the roads. I've planned it a couple of times with my PT, but we have such windy and wet spring conditions that we have cancelled three times. Anyway, today I did it - the weather was great yesterday so we decided that today would be the day!! Blow me down, after a gorgeous morning (and a good weather forecast!), the wind came up just as we left (I looked later - 43 km average with up to 90km gusts!!!), and 5 minutes after that it started to rain. So I got pretty wet and blown around .... but the good thing about that was that I've got through my early-season nervousness about being on the roads and in traffic on my bike, and managed to get up a reasonably substantial hill without stopping, and down the other side of the hill without my brakes playing up!

Came home to have a bath as I had got pretty chilled and now I think I might have a nanna nap!

I'm procrastinating .... must try to get some work done!!!
