Sorry I've been such a tardy forumite over the last coupleadaze ... I've been terribly busy and not even vaguely important. So, again, in no particular order ...

Techie - your Christmas homage is almost as good as your Halloween tribute (which still makes me LOL each time I watch it)

Red - glad the Gorillagram worked out well. Now I can't really comment on the cowboy boots because here in the sticks, even the cowboys don't wear them. However, the situation may be different in Melbourne. Maybe they're a fashion statement? When visiting Nashville years ago I saw the most amazing range of OTT cowboy boots; some made out of snake skin with bits of cobra heads and fangs and stuff. Truly amazing. I reckon he'd be noticed strutting his stuff along Southbank. So - go for it!

Beags, Ella, Blondie, Mish and any other sandgropers - so so sad to see/read about the fire situation. I reckon we all know someone who may be in the affected area.

Nicelife - g'day! Who were you in the days of yore? Yep, I'm still here - like the old matron that I am. Gotta keep my eye on the youngsters.

Happy - that is so funny!

It has been a long week and I am really tired and would like to be in bed and asleep!!. However my most favouritest niece is flying in from Sydney tonight with husband and 2.5 year old. Flight gets in at midnight so I need to stay up until then. Thank goodness the Taxi Service has approved child car seats, so I can be in my jarmies to welcome them here instead of hiring a car seat and having to be at the airport!!

They are here for two nights to spend time with Mum, and my niece will turn 35 while she is here!!! It makes me feel really old!! But I expect to get some lovely photos! She and my mum have a very special bond (this one is Mum's first grand-daughter).

Anyway, the front door is open, and we are going to curl up on the couch and watch the first series Black Adder. We may fall asleep during it, but the alarm is set to wake us up soon after the flight arrives so that we can do the welcoming committee thing :H

A PS - my favouritist niece has a younger brother who is my godson. He is 32, in a manual job earning just over the minimum wage, with a wife and two dependents aged 6 and 4. He just posted an amazing and fabulous post on Facebook about why he cant decide who to vote for in tomorrow's election here. It is very thoughtful and considered. It makes me feel very proud, and that the future of our country is in good hands.

Niece and hubby and daughter arrived fine and there are now the lovely "small child in the early morning" sounds re-bounding through the house!!

I know. So much for our break of the wet stuff. All dry again today and I was hoping for torrential rain all weekend. Last I heard on Margaret River yesterday the weather turned for the better, but those poor people...

What a night here......

One with the runs......one woke with a massive nose bleed, more like a haemorrage......and then he woke a few hours later crying with a headache. Cannot share a bed with a child that sleeps like a grasshopper. Get him off to bed and then the youngest wakes at 5.15am.

And I have to go to the gym because it is one of those places where you have to reserve your creche spots.

Our house is covered in smoke so there most be a bushfire not far away but I can't find anything on the news.

Happy - how can you be so chirpy being up since that hour?

I did my apprenticeship with 3 kids doing what your's did to you last night. First one was a bleeder and still is....there is light at the end of it all Ella and another phase in your life, you'll get there :l And can I say with one at work, one at a friends til tomorrow morning and one glued to his PS3 after being out all morning it is again a very quiet house...much more fun when they're present with noise and fighting...
