yikes Georgie...that's a tough one...but I think I would talk to her...my boys talk very openly about everything with me...at least I hope so!!

I am off today..I am trying to use up my vacation before the end of the year...use it or lose it policy...and I wallowing and watching the stupid Housewives of Orange County...what a petty bunch of women...they are so spoiled...but it cracks me up that Bret is CRAZY about the show....
Sunni- I have my kitty purring beside me and I have been reflecting on how much I will miss him when he dies. Sending love baby!!

Hi there - gosh Georgie - I am not sure what to say - after all, she is 18. Yes, I agree that she should be on birth control, and who knows what happened? If ever she is ready to talk to you - just be there for her. My two do talk to me about stuff that I sometimes wish they wouldn't.......TMI for a mother. But they didn't when they were 18. I probably wouldn't ask her about it - she will know where you got the info......just my opinion though. Just be there for her if she needs to talk. And watch her carefully...

Jan - I am feeling better each day - in fact, 'cos of Ben have been sounding out rescue sheltie places - the one where I got Ben has nothing suitable and have sent me further afield - I might be checking two dogs out this weekend - possibly. I sort of don't want to, but Ben needs me to.

Hi all,
I'm on vacation too MB. Havent gotten much done that I wanted to though, oh well....Rubes I knew hen was home at 3 am cuz I sleep next to the window and leave it open, I heard her clucking. I dont sleep well when the moon is full and I was awake. I looked out the window and saw Pouncers possum friend out in the yard and guess he was bothering hen, her name is Cuddley...anyway Georgie that is tough,especially with her age. Sometimes when I read stuff my kids wrote that worries me, I'll make an example of someone else doing whatever it is, like I might say, so and so just smokes pot all day and night and dropped out of school blah blah. Thats what pot does to ya etc. Then I sort of get my point across without them suspecting I read their stuff...well, I've gotta go make a nest for Cuddle, its gonna get cold tonight....b

Thanks Bird. Just got an e-mail back from Rescue lady and AM going on Sunday to look at 2 pups. Wish my heart was more into it - but I have to do this, for Ben and it will help me too I am sure.

Sunny love, you'll never replace Maggie, but you have so much to share, and what a lucky life some pup will have, with all the love you have. And your heart is big enough for making more memories. I've been looking for the picture of the place I was telling you about. I wanted Wolfie buried there, but my men folk brought in a backhoe, he was so big, and put him away in our pet cemetary. It has tombstones and everything. I need to get in there and clean it, now that snake and bug season is winding down.
Hubs has a friend who used to hunt a lot in South Georgia. One cold day he stepped over a log and felt something tapping on his steel-toed boots. Looked down and it was a big rattler. Then, he was bow hunting and had 2 skunks start chasing him, during the day. Finally killed them both with arrows, then retrieved his arrows since they are expensive. Got all the way home and was telling his wife, who asked if they could have been rabid, since he got blood on his hands. So he drove all the way back, retrieved the bodies for testing, and they WERE rabid. He had to get treatment, since there is no cure once symptoms show up and it's a horrible death.
Gonna watch 'To Kill A Mockingbird' again tonight. That's the movie that made me fall in love with Gregory Peck. Read the book or watch the movie if you never have.

Hello, my dear family! I am so sorry I have not posted in so long! I had started physical therapy 5 days a week and then last Monday, I went to stay with my parents for a week while Paul worked. Friday, I woke up with high blood sugar over 550 and had to go to the hospital. The first thing they did was take my insulin pump from me and I was in the ER all day without any insulin, which caused my sugar to go to 1200 and I was almost in a coma. I was admitted to ICU for 3 days with a urinary tract infection that I did not even know I had! I have small, rolling, damaged veins and after 18 attempts to put an IV in my hands, arms and feet, they finally put it in my neck, which collasped and had to be redone! It was truly a NIGHTMARE! I had a bag of insulin going, fluids and antibiotics in my drip. Finally, I was released Monday and I looked like a black pillsbury dough boy! I came home with 30 pounds of fluids on me! I am finally back to normal, but I am very concerned about my health. My kidneys are shutting down (my worst fear!) so I'm drinking tons of water and constantly peeing! Today, I started back on therapy. My son-in-law's grandfather died this morning and I want to go to the funeral if I am able. So for now, I am going to leave for a while and focus on my health and getting better. I am so very weak, but it is so hard for me to sit still! But I am going to read alot and think of you all. Grateful will keep you updated on my health. I hope you are all doing well. Thank you so much for all your prayers. Sunni, I am so very sorry for the loss of your beloved Maggie. Vick, it's about dang time you started taking all this stuff seriously!! I have a dear friend who was in the same shape (I've told you about her) and she had double transplants about a year ago, and is perfectly healthy now. Could you at least think about that, talk to your doctor. For the first time in her life she is diabetes free. I agree you need to concentrate on nothing but YOUR health right now, and know how hard that is for you. Shari was at death's door many times, so I DO understand how serious this is. She says she wishes this had been available when she was younger (she's in her early 50's) but her life is wonderful now, and she praises God and science every day of her life. Take care. I'll call you soon, but just rest now, please. Paul's on his own till you're well, you hear me!? Time for him to step up.

Please have a gentle talk with your daughter. Tell her it's your mother's intuition that has you worried. Don't bring her sister into it at all.

When my younger sis and I were teens, she became pregnant. I was the first person she told, and I tried valiantly to protect her, but my mom found out by sleuthing in sister's dresser- found her pre-natal vitamins, pamphlets, etc. When confronted by my mom, I crumped. What could I say when she was holding the vitamins and appointment cards in her hand? Just saying, if your other daughter has suspicions, they are probably valid. The burden of my sister's pregnancy was too heavy for me to bear for too long.

Fen, my sister did something similar, and I was in charge of taking care of everything. I even had to explain to her about menstual cycles. Momma was so naive. She lost the baby, ended up marrying the FIRST of 4 losers, but in this day, I truly believe we have to know what they're up to. The threats today are horrible. How we handle the info is really important, but my kids (now about 40) have said they wish I'd been MORE watchful. Just my experience, you know. So just my opinion. Everyone's different.

My 2 cents (and this could change when I have a teen)-- twitter and facebook are public in at least some way or you could not have gotten to those posts. Teens think all that stuff just goes away so to talk to her is a lesson in loads of ways-- every major emplyer I know of now asks for a release to get on an applicants social media if it is not public-- you should see the things they find out-- and most of it is from a google search. So I would speak to her becasue pregnancy of course is life changing and as we know-- drinking which seems so fun when we are young can turn into a nightmare. She put it on twitter so I am pretty much saying it is tehre-- don't feel bad.

I am so glad to hear you are better Vick-- scary stuff! Rubes-- cold here eh? Nice night for a fire in a pit with that full moon. More later-- roast is almost ready
