Hey all. First, Piglet itn't missing. Got caught up in a circuituous oblivion that is the post office this time of year, ended up back with me in a damaged box, had to be re-boxed and posted. I expect him to surface VERY shortly!
Let's have a show of hands from everyone who wants to run away! Fen can drive the taco truck, and we can switch if over to run on old french fry oil. You'll know and hour before we get to your house, so have the catsup ready.
Atl, my house has the old high ceilings, nearly 12 feet, and one year our tree was so big we had to cut off part of the top and bottom. We used 2 tall ladders to decorate. Since i'm banned from ladders now, we've cut back on the tree size. It was one of thos old-fashioned, red cedars we cut on out farm that makes the whole house smell like Christmas. Hub's niece was about 15 and she still talks about that tree even though she's a g'mother now.
Talked to my wonderful favorite renters who moved into aunt's house, (the pagans on the 4 wheelers brought him into the fray) and he called back today to be sure Tay knew she could come to him or his wife anytime she was home alone and afraid. They are so excited about moving in, and I am too. Told him son may be buying all the land around him, about 40 acres, after the holidays, and he's planning to put it in conservation, so renter will never have anyone around to bother him. Like he said, he could never own a place like that on his own, but this is the second best thing. Plus, he's already done a few HVAC jobs for me gratis, so it's working out great.
MIL had to drive to PTC this AM and swallow a radium tablet for thyroid scans this afternoon. I was going with her for the 2nd one till I found out we wouldn't be talking to the doc, so will go tomorrow for the reading. She then CASUALLY mentioned FIL has to go to ATL in January for cataract surgery on both eyes. First Hubs and I knew of it. And you wonder why I'm concerned when they take off on a trip to Alabama at 9 PM, with no way of us knowing if they make it to the lake or not?

Much to do, my office looks like it was hit by a storm. Helping son and Tay work on rooms for the girls and making sure we have everything ready when he makes his move. Incredibly, Tay has flipped on trying to defend her mother, and only wants to help her sisters. Could it be she's actually growing up???:bow She's worried about the same things I am now, and actually helping me a lot.

Gosh, I can't imagine a tree that tall in the house...I'm almost considering not getting a tree this year, as Mrs. Fen doesn't take part in the decorating, and I have to hang all the ornaments out of cat reach. This time of year can be so overwhelming, anyway.

Hi everyone - ironing is finished, all put away food ready for work, now all I need to do is shower! Fen, I too am not putting up a tree this year - we are going to daughters for Christmas and with both of our crazy schedules, it really doesn't seem worth it. I will get my favourite Decs out though and put those out...... when I get to it.
Good post Ruby - you sound a little less stressed!! PLEASE try and get some rest - please?????

NO Ruby, I will not be dressing up as Father Christmas - I was sort of volunteered into doing Peter Rabbit at Easter!!!! And yes, we are crazy busy and yes, I do like it that way. I close tonight but am going in for two hours tomorrow morning from 7-9 then coming home then going back at 4 until close!! Busy busy! from 7-9 I can get SO MUCH accomplished!
Yes Fen - how many can you sleep at Tick Hollow? there are a lot of us coming!! LOL

Fen-- our family room is a 2 story one so the tree looks small in there! Hubs is 6'5" so to get to the top he can use a step ladder and Luke and I decorate as high as we can. It is very pretty even if it takes awhile-- that's why we decorate early -- to enjoy for a while. Now I don't take it down until after the bcs chamPionship so we will have until January 9th. Getting ready to go to the burbs for hockey. Hubs is out with client tonight so we are solo again!

Oooops. Opened a package delivered thinking it was something Tay had ordered for Christmas, and it was stuff Hubs had ordered, definitely female! Since the man DEFINITELY has no time to screw around it's either for me or his Momma. Ain't her style. So I shall carefully repackage and plead the 5th. I'm so disappointed! After 7 hours of uploading my video to photobucket, it failed, so I have no video to post! I wanted everyone to see how wonderful it was and how shocked I was! She was the greatest gift and blessing I could have ever imagined! I couldn't believe Kelly did this for me and flew all by herself, arranged for a hotel nearby everyone and we spent every minute together from the time she got there! Unfortunately, she missed her flight home and didn't get home until about 10:00 and then had to go to work the next morning. Now the poor thing is sick and had to work all day. We caught a bug somewhere and I was in bed all day yesterday from it! I've been reading back 25 pages, but have to get off now and cook supper. I will post some pics, but we really didn't get many! I'm the camera person, but I was too excited to take many pics! I think I was in shock from the moment she got there until she left and I am still smiling! Thank you, MB for starting the birthday thread. I laughed the whole way through it! I love you all so much! Vicki
