Hey - I am back! I have come back with a 6 year old girl - her name is Lady but that will probably change - I had a Lady many years ago who went blind. So the name is probably changing. haven't decided what too yet - I like Grate's suggestion of Daisy personally!! Ben is NOT impressed, but he will be..... She is laying by my feet as I type this. I also brought back two bags of horse poop - I suppose I should say manure. LOL My eldest daughter balked at it - but they had horses so I asked them if I could have some for my garden! Only me !! It idn't smell - but Lady did - she was letting wind the entire 3 1/2 hour drive home LOL She is a real sweetie. Ben is laying in the hallway with his back to me. But it will work out. I have three days off now which is going to work really well. Have to go and get some food - back later everyone!

Oh, Sun, how wonderful! Can't wait to see pics. Ben is just showing his butt (literally) for a little while since you've been spoiling him. I LOVE Daisy (Ruby!). She DOES need a second name, right? As for her reacting to the manure, (Use of Horse manure - Organic Gardening Forum - GardenWeb) you should have seen the chaos when TMB discovered I had a mounted deer head in the front seat of the car, on the way to the cabin, in downtown ATL! Can you say Road Rage?? :H
Seriously, that girl is probably still tentative about what her future holds, but it sounds like she's already settled in. Do you know anything about her history? I cringe thinking about what animals go through, but they seem to forgive and forget so quickly in a loving environment, and she has hers now. Big hugs to you, love!!! Pictures, I want pictures!!!

Gosh that is great about Lady Sun. Ben will be in love with her in no time.... Cuddley is doing better. She spent the day in the garden. She ate 2 eggs, a can of cat food and lotsa water, then slept till I put her to bed in the coop at sunset...maybe she will make it, she is about 8 though...back to work tomorrow, I am dreading it, well will just grin and bear it (remember that cartoon)?.....b

Bird..I forgot to say before that Cuddley is a beautiful chicken!!! She looks so healthy. I had to laugh at the thought of her eating eggs and cat food!! Good luck with your first day back to work.....

Sunny-congratulations on your new "little" girl...she sounds lovely and I'm sure it won't take long for Ben to come around.....just like Ruby said. Manure is great for your garden.....our Amish neighbors spread it on their fields all the time.

Ruby-it's a shame nobody got a video of your and TMB's trip with the deer head.....Why are you anxious for January & February to be over? Glad you got 2 houses rented...how many more do you have to get rented now?

P.S. I heard on the news this morning that it is "World Diabetes Day" and that we should wear blue in honor of this day. Let's all try to wear some blue for our Vicki and all the others who have this terrible disease.

We had an uneventful night and a quiet morning so far. Hubs came home from work and met Daisy and announced that he likes her. So that is a good thing. She is very sweet. Will try and take some pics today Ruby.... I don't take many - in fact, need to find my camera!! And yes, I will try to find a pic of Maggie - she hated having her pictures taken though so I didn't get many.

Off to get ready for meeting, then home to clean my house!! Fen should be arriving this afternoon sometime. drive safely Fen!

I have on my blue (longjohns OK? :H). Sun, so happy you have some time off, and Fen gets to visit. Push each other to take some pics! Wish I could meet you both (soon, huh?).
Bird, I understand more about your habits with your wildlife, etc., maybe, than others. You're an Earth Mother, what I called myself before I got too weak to be outside, but I'm really fighting my way back. In my case, I've had a (nagging) Earth Angel, Hubs, who has taken care of me and provided the means for me to rescue (while he nags!) animals that cross my path. I'd take them all, and that has passed to my children, God bless them! Goats, pigs, cows, horses, rats, frogs, lizards, dogs, cats, you name it, it has passed our threshhold.
Just had a long talk with MIL, tried to reassure her I'm working with my clan. Found she has to have radiation on her thyroid in December. I've missed some appointments, so have to step up my game with her. Will be going with her for the appointments henceforth. Told me she can't sleep with her husband for a week after (DUH!!), and they live in a one bedroom. No idea if she'll need medication, etc. SOOOoooo, December is filling up fast. Our Thanksgiving schedule with dau around their work schedule, gift giving, Christmas, birthdays, ((sigh)). But this is what I love and live for, so I do it.
Appointments out the wazoo till the end of the year, and then I have to factor in mine. I need major dental surgery, doc has called, but no time yet to schedule. Will let you know.
Grate, are you gonna get one of those bulb planters I posted the link for, or make one of those homo sapiens you pamper plant them? :H If you can't get a planter, send me your address and I'll send you one!.
Nothing done in the house yet, phone keeps ringing, but getting up and out in a bit. Never mind what happened to October, what happened to retirement??

Ruby...I think I'll get one of those bulb planters this weekend - if I can walk after my next epidural on Friday. The only man who lives with me that does things for me without moaning is Josh and he is so busy and works long hours. He doesn't get home until after dark and works Saturdays...but maybe he can help me on Sunday. He's a good kid - at least most of the time.

BTW-I sent off a fedex envelope this morning to you so you can send Addy's pic book that I forgot.....you've had her long enough, okay???? You have your own pretty granddaughters to look at. LOL. Plus I forgot to tell you that Addy LOVES the yellow coat that you gave me...she doesn't mind putting the hood up....it is a great coat for her because she loves to go outside at our house no matter what the weather.
