Adorable Rog! So sweet of you and Sue to keep Buddy's family together. Hang in there Ruby. Hello everyone else. Long day at work, we were closed since Wednesday and there were 14 messages on the answering machine, 12 of them emergencies. Off now until Thursday night and I am on the schedule for Saturday too. I can't believe it is almost December. Wasn't it just Halloween? Time flies. Well gonna go to bed now, Sweet dreams to one and all:hGina
Have to laugh, almost every one of those emergencies felt it necessary to go into detail about the particular food they were eating when the tooth broke. Just to let you all know, if that ever happens to any of you we really don't care how you broke your tooth or what you were eating Lmao

Roger...I love your new kitties!! How nice that Sue went back and got Buddy's sister...she has a good heart!!
Well, I am back to reality....I feel like I have a "Clopen"....I got to bed at 1am and back up at 5:30...I was going to try to sleep in and go in to work late...but my body decided differently. I hope I can leave work EARLY today and get a "real" night's sleep. Plus, I brought the rain from Mississippi back with me....everyone said it has been beautiful here the whole time I was gone...now it is raining. Figures.
But at least it is warm right now....I just can't believe how cold it was in MS....it snowed in some part of the state while I was there.
Anyway, I miss Vick and her wonderful family...but I'm glad to be home. Little Addy clung to me when I finally got to her house last night (long story...but I missed my flight home yesterday.....spent the day in the airport - felt like Tom Hanks).....but I'm here. Vicki will probably post pictures today I hope.
Today is her "real" birthday-HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SWEET FRIEND!! Make sure you read the thread that Jan started for you!!
Off to get baby boy up for school. Love to all.Live simply. Love generously. Care deeply. Speak kindly. Leave the rest to God.

Hi everyone. Want to hear about my day?
No, believe me, you don't.
Well, since this is the place to rant, you're going to anyway.
Still sick as a dog with this hideous virus, planning on another jammie day when the mobile rings then cuts off. Check who rang and it was James...remember James? Going really well until a few months ago until (against my advice) he decides he's well enough to get work, but, unable to continue as a carpenter, will go to TAFE (Technical and Further Education) and retrain in journalism. All this backfires on him and he is cut off his Disability...long story but also Centrelink (Social Security) cuts his rent payments without telling him and is now going to evict him as he is behind on his rent. James falls apart and starts drinking again...his Nal implants have run out, too, so he's on his way back down where he was a year ago.
Well, he rings me this morning, as mentioned above, and hangs us. I ring back and he tells me he needs to go to Fresh Start to get a doctor to complete a form saying he's unfit to work, but he busted up his leg last night and is lying in his own excrament.
Oh, did I mention I spent an hour and a half talking to him on Yahoo last Sunday night convincing him not to bang up a box of oxycontin and end it all? Sorry, small oversight on my behalf...
Well, I tell him to clean himself up and I'll pick him up in an hour and get him to Fresh Start...and this is what I do, so by 10:00 we're there waiting for his appointment. Did I mention why he busted up his leg and was lying in his own excrament? Could have had something to do with the month's worth of Ketamine he banged up his arm last night...
When we get there, he decides he needs to have a little lie down (with his drink bottle 50/50 cordial/wine) and heads off to the detox room. 12:30 I track him down and wait with him (watch him sleeping) until 13:50 when he's called in to see the doctor. Dr suggests if he wants to get back on Disability he needs to replace his Nal implants...
All Hell breaks loose...swearing, tantrums, very bad form, believe me...Dr and I try to explain situation but he's not having it. In the end, I stand up and say..."That's it, James, I'm done...i'm over it. If you can't see that we're trying to help you here and don't want our advice and help, you're on your own from now on. I've done all I can, I can't do any more, it's your choice!!!"
In the meanwhile, I've managed to get him a script for Nal and Bac, which I pick up, put in my bag, the Dr closes his file and stands up and Meeting Over.
My eyes full of brimming tears, Dr squeezes my arm and wishes me good luck. Tells me I'm a good friend, a very good friend, and hopes it all works out.
Silent walk back to the car and in the end I tell James unless he's prepared to try the Nal/Bac for two weeks then he's on his own. James breaks down, sobbing. No-one's ever done as much for him in his life as I have etc...but I stick to my guns and tell him it's up to him. I dropped him off and am calling to find out his decision tomorrow morning.
Friends, family and loved ones, I'm shattered.
Ashe and Chris and the kids were told on Monday they have two weeks to be out of the house...
(Who evicts a family with three little kids a fortnight before Xmas?)
My Mother is on morphine, probably won't be here this time next year, and I'm tired.
Sorry, rant over...
It really does help to vent...:h Mish :h

Never give up...

Oh Mish - gosh, you really are going through the wringer right now. But just know that that you really have done all you can for James - you really have been a wonderful friend and have gone above and beyond - he needs to know that the rest is up to him. You really HAVE done all you can. Re Ashe and the family - I really don't know what to say - as you said, you are ranting and venting - it does help to get it out - I can't imagine what they will do. And I SO feel for you with your mum. Was in the same situation with my dad..... it is so hard. How are you holding up? All you can do is be there for her. Love her. Sending love and strength to you my dear Mish :l:l
Grateful - lovely to have you back - those Clopens are awful aren't they? I am so pleased that you had a good time - it was a wonderful thing you did for Vicki. We are all waiting for pictures. Hope work isn't too stressful for you today. It has been pouring here for what seems like days - I think we have had about 5-6 inches of rain over the past two days.
Rog - LOVE the kittens - especially the little one with no name! they are so sweet and lovely that you have two - they will be company for each other when you aren't there and so much fun to watch playing together.
Hi Zen - nice to see you pop in here....
Tony - you......are Tony !!
Hi to everyone else - I am off today and have lots of errands this morning but will be around later - love and hugs to you all,
sun XXHow simple it is to see that we can only be happy now and there will never be a time when it is not now....
