Great stuff Starty, lovely to hear you so positive about the future, it gives me hope that I can sort something too. Expat bet you will love your hike, it's the thoughts of getting out there that is hard. Hmmm that can be said o so many things in life if we allow it.

I got the white rabbit thing from school and forgot all about it until my two started nursery.

I've been busy running round filling various containers with water as it's being cut off today. You'd think we'd be without it for 6 months the amount I've accumulated.

It's off for 6 hours.

Oh and the weather news from the Costa del Tyne. Bright and beautiful Autumn day.

It got me out of bed toot sweet.

We only had 2 pairs of Halloween visitors last night so I was left with a bag full of sweets and lollies. Mr JC sat as happy as a pig in muck munching his way through all the kid's candy. I've made him take the rest to work.

I was actually quite pleased to get rid of the Halloween avatar. Just think it's only a month until I try and squeeze Black Bess into her Santa outfit for my Christmas one.

This is the avatar I meant to leave up. I tested the other one and didn't like it much as an avatar TBH, although I find it amusing as a picture.

I bet Mr. JC has hidden the candy in his desk drawer. But then he seems like a person who would share it so maybe he only kept a little stash for himself. Hallowe'en isn't celebrated here. They have a time around the end of February til end of March or so that people dress up. Mostly they just dress up the last weekend tho'. Younger son has come up with some amazing costume ideas. And I usually got to help him. That's my favourite part. Taking some fabric and hair and face dye and coming up with something unusual. One year he dressed up as a street sign - this one -


We had a lot of fun doing it and it was a huge success at the parties he went to.

Have a phone call to make so I'll catch up with youz again later on....

Cool avatars! It has started raining. The hike has been cancelled. Heating up the oven to make a tartiflette. Amazing how fast the weather can change-it blew in from Brittany. I can't really complain though because I really need a cosy hibernating day where I don't have to race off anywhere. Back to work on Thursday so I might as well make the best of it. Now if only the kids will leave me alone. Daughter has homework to finish and I may just let the little one play some video games on the computer.
Must admit-with the cold weather coming-I went telly shopping yesterday. We have not bought one yet but I think it's a sure thing we will in the coming days. There is no way I'll survive the winter without one-locked inside with the kids!:H

Lunchtime check-in. The weather has cleared up nicely. I was able to go outside in shirtsleeves and soak up the sun for a bit. Luvverly

Tips, it's beyond me how you can cope with that commute every day. I live 15 minutes from where I used to work and found even that journey to be a real pain in the bum. Couldn't you move closer to work? Apart from the time saving, you'd save a fortune on petrol. It's about ?1.35 a litre here! :upset:

I agree with tips on the tv expatty. I know they're not cheap but I'm amazed you've lasted this long without one when you have two young children to keep entertained.

I wear my hiking boots every time I go out for a walk now in order to get my feet used to them (or should that be the other way round?) Went for another long walk in the dark last night and my shirt was wet with perspiration when I got home. (was that TMI?) Not a bad day outside, there's actually some blue sky out there, so I expect I'll go for another long walk later on.

There are much worse things you could be addicted to pingu, but I'm on a diet so rice pud is definitely off the menu! :upset:
