Just a quick stop by to say nighters.:l
My son is finishing up his punish work-twenty lines because he and a friend put their muddy feet on the school wall. I agree he needs a punishment but with his dyslexia and severe problem to write (fine motor skills disability- (therapy three feckin times a week!) it seems she could have picked out something a bit more appropriate. Like cleaning walls or the school yard or something during play time. He's only finished 11 lines and it's almost 10pm. He's crying and I feel like crying. :upset: Instead of us working on real homework like his reading or grammar or maths I've got him slaving over writing "Je ne salis pas les murs de l'?cole avec mes pieds" for hours. I wonder if a physically handicapped child did the same thing they'd make him run laps!!!! Beat him with a stick because he can't run fast enough. Very upset-sorry. I need to make an appointment with the school director-but I know they are just looking for an excuse to kick him out. Not a happy trooper tonight.
Hope things are looking up for the rest of you.

Hi Expat--don't apologize. I don't know what to say except I'm thinking of you and hope you can get things worked out with school officials. Don't stop until you do.:lPsalms 119:45

Sorry you have to put up with that sort of thing, Expat. And your little one, too

Thanks RC:l I've just tucked him into bed-he could not go on anymore. His little hand was trembling. He's only 7 yrs old. I've worked so hard at trying to help him overcome his reading and writing disabilities-staying positive, buying him coloured markers to make writing "fun", going to the library every week to get interesting books etc. Therapy-speech, physical and child psychologist every week. He has really made a lot of progress but this new bitch of a teacher seems determined to trash all the work we've been doing. I could say a lot about the French right now-*%?*!!!! but I'll control myself. :H
Under the duvet for me and try to get some rest. It's going to be another long day tomorrow. I hope the sleep fairy is kind to all of us tonight! There's quite a few of us who need a good rest.:l

You're a super Mom Expat:h Poor little guy. Kind of a side thought here: Have you ever researched famous people who might inspire him as well?
Sweet dreams to you:lPsalms 119:45

mollyka;1202814 wrote: Xpatty, if you're still around that is one of my hobby horses -- the utterly inappropriate punishments that fecking stupid bullying teachers dole out. It is no different than in the old days giving them a beating, it's bullying and it's nasty. 100% your little boy should have been made clean the wall or do some mundane cleaning chore for his misdemeanor aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrghhh, I hope both he and you get a good night's sleep and even tho I was always the last parent to complain to the school about such stuff (after 4 kids, believe you me there were plenty of such incidences) I think a word in someones shelllike wouldn't go amiss. Just make sure you're calm when you do so, or you'll lose the plot and hence the high moral ground. Ok off my soap box.
Hope everyone is ok - Zenny are you around? Thinking of you honey, and Tabbers - get a good night's sleep with the promise of Jc's scrambled eggs in the morning:l
Hey RC and BB and MrsA and anyone else who's still around!

God that sounds lovely Molly.
The great teacher idea came from your very articulate posts.
I love and appreciate good writing but cannot do it myself so am always in awe of someone who can write good stuff.
Enjoy your day with your lovely daughter tomorrow
