Good points Reccie. Yes, the strikes can't go on forever. At least they shouldn't. The problem is that they are fueled by a couple of the smaller parties who most likely wouldn't be included in a coalition or consensus government because they have stated that they will never vote for the government enforcing the new austerity measures that have been agreed to as part of us getting this 6th money packet. At least that's what I understand - that the government has agreed on taking certain measures as part of their side of the agreement. And at least two of the smaller opposition parties have said they are against that so they will still be around to instigate uprisings, protests and strikes instead of working with the government for a productive future for this country.

As for the price of tourism, you are right, it will be an advantage as long as the Greeks don't try to overcharge people in an effort to make up the money they've lost over the past few years. I don't know if there are still cheap rooms to be had. I do know that they've built some stunning resorts here in Greece over the past years and they are truly mind-boggling in size and luxury.

Owww me no likey the sound of that, far too taxing on whats left of me brain cells.

Just back from a lovely walk on the beach, walked for miles and it was dark by the time I got back to the car. Really calming to hear nothing but the waves coming ashore and the geese overhead.
